About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Tough golf course in poor condition
Very difficult course but fun to play. Have played many times over the years but is by far in the worst condition I have ever seen it. Not sure why. Very disappointed.
Yes if fairways had more grass
A tight course should be more rewarding of a ball in the middle of the fairway. It may be that the sandy soil makes grass difficult to grow. Sparse as it was, the fairways held the ball allowing for a solid shot to the green. The greens were excellent for an average player. Easy to read and held their lines.

Greens are awesome
Course was in good shape for the lack of rain lately, but the greens were the best I've ever played on, they were so good, thah they looked fake

NOT for the faint of heart!
Super tight fairways. If you don’t hit it dead straight then you will not have a good time! Learning from the last time I played here, I went up a tee box so that I could go down a club. The ranger did his best to help with pace, but it was still painfully slow. I think that was due to the skill of the two 4-pieces in front of myself and another random guy that I was paired with.

Brown out!
Purchased a green fee and was excited to play the course as it had been 30 years since I played it. Arrived and off the 1st tee hit nice drive only to find brown dead grass everywhere. I had to move ball back to find grass. In some spot it was just dirt. I thought just a bad hole hole. Then I ran into a worker there and they said that they had run both pulling ponds dry and it hasn’t rained there in a couple of weeks. With temps around 100 everything is just burnt up. The one bright spot was the greens, they were spectacular. Putted true and we’re in great shape.

Love this course
This is my 2nd review on this course and I still love it. Very challenging. This heat wave isn't doing anyone any favors but, Lost Key seems to be doing everything they can to mitigate. Overall the course was in great shape even after recent aerification. Can't wait to play again in cooler weather!

Really challenging course with tight fairways, and hazards at every shot. Super fun but will challenge golfers of every level. One of my new favorite courses!

Vacation time!
Found this course years ago through our condo owners. Been a fan ever since. Tough layout but fair for well placed shot. Not sure that I'd want this to be my home course, but for vacation.

Great test
My son and I played Lost Key today and had a great time. We played from the black tees which makes the course rather challenging especially for a 67 year old. However, we both enjoyed the course pace of play and the twosome we were paired with. We are visiting from Tennessee and would recommend this course to any player

Lost keys
We stayed at the resort so I planned to play here all week. Not a whole lot of fun when you’re struggling from the tee box. Tough course since the fairways are tight. Definitely lost a more balls than usual. If you are good enough to really challenge the course It’s a well kept course. Greens a fast and well kept.

Too narrow.
Too many blind landing areas with no idea where the hole is. No rough at sides of fairways, just swamp. Too much target golf. If you play, you're better off hitting irons to the 150 pole, unless your drives are dead straight. Oh and after the turn a "member" threesome squeezed in ahead of us making for a slower back nine.

Best shape in years
The greens were immaculate. Tee to green, this is the best shape I’ve seen Lost Key in for years. My hats off to the greens keepers.

Great Course
This is the 3rd time playing Lost Key. It is a fun challenge. Got paired with two great locals/members ( Kevin-Dwight)who helped with strategy and was a pleasure to play with. The course was in great shape and the staff was friendly as always. The entrance is off the main road that runs along the ocean and you enter through a secure guard house. Only issue would be the cart girl was almost non existent. She was seen once during the entire round. So load up your drinks and snacks prior to heading out for your round. Great course, location and staff.
