About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Lost Key aka Lost Balls
Challenging course requiring serious control both in Distance and direction. If it was named Lost Balls it would be more appropriate. Best greens I have played on in Northwest Florida Hands down. Love the speed and condition of the greens. Other areas of the fairways are roped off in a lot of cases to ensure the areas grow back/do not get abused. Carry your sand bottle with you when you have to leave your cart!! For those driving from Pensacola and other areas East. You cannot enter through the back gate although you can exit that way!!

Nice Round as Usual
Nice round on cloudy but otherwise nice day. Some greens still a little lean from winter, but most are nice. Fairways and tees in good condition as well.

Enjoying a round with friends is always a good day. Got extra on hole 4 watching gator snatch and eat breakfast. Awesome to watch active wildlife. Steve the starter was really great with letting us know the course and expectations.

Fun day
But I can’t recommend this course. I haven’t played here for a couple of years and it has really gone down hill. Fairways and greens have very patchy grass. It’s a 30-40$ golf course but they are charging twice that amount. I won’t be back.

Lost Balls
Found course unfairly tight. Just hitting close to edge of fairway would result in balls rolling off into lateral hazards and often lost. Not recommended for any player with higher than 10 handicap. Target golf and all carry to too many greens.

Don't Miss!!
If you have heard of Lost Ket, then you are aware of the its unofficial name: Lost Ball!! Super tight fairways, no bail outs, tee game must be presice. I enjoy the challenge, yet on this trip the course was in sub standard condition compared to the other courses in the area. Thin greens, spotty fairways, and worn out tee boxes. The bunkers almost seemed to have too much sand if thats posible. I did play Lost Key in the fall and the course was in better shape, I still highly recommend if you are in the area.

The pro shop and staff, and the greens (except for some rough areas), were the better parts of the course. After that, the course, for an Arnold Palmer design, was fairly poor. The design features contours that make a drive "right down the middle" often end up in an unplayable lie. Many bunkers are intended to keep your ball in play, while others impede the prime landing areas from being a good place to be. The fairways and tee boxes were quite poor, with many bare patches of turf. The sight lines presented by course foliage, bunkering, and contours made feeling confidant about your intended shot lines, iffy. This course, with its pricing, portends itself to be better than the reality presented. We will not make a return visit.

“Lost ball”
I’ll start with this: the staff were all wonderful. They were all very friendly, very helpful, and very honest.
I’ll proceed next to this: it’s known as “lost ball” all around the town. Whenever we met anyone out and discussed the courses we played, they always snickered when we mentioned playing here. 5’ off each fairway, it’s impossible to find your ball. So you must very hit true to have a really enjoyable round. We were also hoping for better condition fairways and greens for the cost. During our trip we spoke to two people that live on lost key but don’t play the course because of the extremely difficult layout. That being said, besides the OOB, the layout was enjoyable. We enjoyed Perdido and Craft Farms significantly more, though. They were in much better condition and much more fun.

Fun and challenging
Chatted with the starter and told him that of the six courses we had played in Florida...this had the best greens! The course was challenging, but as i have always said...keep it in the fairway and you'll be fine!

Great shape especially the greens, and it’s narrow
The course was in great shape for Spring golf. The greens were very good, although they could have been mowed down a bit more… a little on the slow side but very consistent.
Lost Key is narrow, I played up a set of tees this year, and found it much more enjoyable… only one lost ball on this course which is pretty good (a friend nicknamed it Lost Ball) and I managed to break 80 as well.
The best part is my wife and I played in 4 hours… we’ve played 5 times in the last couple of weeks and this was the best paced round by far.

Nice venue!
For $80 a couple it was a value. Tees a fairways showed some earlier weather issues…but the greens were in great shape…the best of the 10 courses we’ve played this month! Carts were old…no USB port for electronics like a phone GPS!
