Lost Key Golf Club

I have played this course several times. It is fun but can be difficult if you don’t keep the ball in play. The greens were excellent and most fairways were good.

No towels, no water on the cart no service at bag load or departure, charging for range balls now-don't slip too far because this is a great course to play on Perdido. Nothing on sale in pro shop. You get the impression, they don't care whether you are there or not.

Lost Key is a winner both in price and quality. The staff enjoys interaction with players before and after the round. Ground crew is diligent but respectful of golfer. I play this course almost every time I’m in the area.

We locals affectionately call this course

"Lost Ball" and on this occasion the course did not disappoint. Fortunately we found as many balls as we lost (some even better quality) so let's call it even. The greens were immaculate and the fairways well kept. The lateral hazards were daunting (of which there are many) so course management is a must. The Golfpass hot deal was the only way I would have played this course on the weekends and it was worth every penny (5,500 of them).

The whole “Lost Ball” nickname is justified. OB left and right on basically every hole and as narrow as any course I’ve ever played. The greens were like carpets, but very very slow. We asked the Marshall if they were rolling 9 and he said an emphatic “MAYBE”. But the design of this course is very challenging. The scenery is nice though, it’s like golfing on a Florida safari.

Pace of play was only issue. Everything else was outstanding.

Had to do a double take on the greens. They almost looked artificial because they were that good, very soft and true. You have to keep the ball in play. The rough was tough and outside of it is nothing but swamp land. Practically nobody there mid week. Will definitely go back.

Back 9 was shut down and rental clubs are sub par.

Narrow fairways and doom if you miss them leads to a challenging round that takes some familiarity with course layout to survive The layout is interesting with a variety of terrains

Played Lost Key at the start of a family trip to Pensacola Beach, and it was a nice course. Fairways were in good shape. greens were in excellent shape and rolled true. The rough was fair.

This course will BEAT YOU DOWN though. If any ball is outside of the rough you will not find it. There are no openings between holes it's all thick jungle like vegetation so be prepare for some handicap humility. I'm a 10.2 hdcp and I shot a 92 and lost at least 6 balls.

My favorite course in the area was Marcus Pointe for the value and condition. This came in a close 2nd and then Cypress Lakes was a distant 3rd.

Had a very enjoyable round. Played as a single and was teamed up with another single and 2 some. 2 some played 9, but we played 18. Our pace picked up and caught groups at 15. Considering, pace was pretty good. Course was in excellent shape and greens were well taken care of, though deceivingly fast despite some growth. Keep your ball in the fairway, water, marsh and brush will not be kind to you. Great experience and I'll be back.

Challenging course, unique and loaded with natural surroundings. Very enjoyable.

Great golf course with grēat staff. A definite play for anyone visiting the area.

Let me start with the only negative I can say. On the day we played, we were unfortunate enough to get behind a group of three that was more interested in drinking than playing. They had the entire back 9 backed up. Was literally about 10 minutes between be able to take a shot. Perhsps the Marshall could've came around and sped them up.... That said, the course itself was immaculate! Probably the nicest greens I've played on, even better than Kiva Dunes. Fairways were in amazing shape, and tightly cut. This was a challenging course, but I'm looking forward to playing it again for sure. An awesome course for the price! I've paid almost as much to play courses that were far inferior.

First time playing this golf course, probably the best conditioned course I played during my vacation in Gulf Shores. The entire course was in excellent condition, the greens were the most plush greens I played on, the fairways were in great shape and the tee boxes were extremely nice. Golf course is very difficult because of the narrow fairways and landing areas without much margin for error for most players and very narrow strips of rough along the edges of the fairway boarded by swampland and hazard areas. Picked up lots of lost golf balls while looking for playing partners ball and the two balls I hit left in the hazard. Pace of play was slow due to several groups in front of our group not playing very good, backing up with two groups on the tee box waiting at times. Overall the best course played of four in the area.
