Lost Key Golf Club

About
Lost Key Golf Club is conveniently situated equidistant from the historic downtown area of Pensacola and the pristine white sand beaches of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores. The Arnold Palmer-designed layout was Florida's first golf course to be certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. It underwent a major renovation in 2006 that included the addition of 2,200 native trees, 13,000 wetland plantings, and the resurfacing of the tees, greens, fairways, and rough. The golf course now presents a formidable test for even the most seasoned golfers. The greens are large and undulating and the flat fairways are lined with trees. There are also doglegs fairways on six holes and sand bunkers on several others. Lost Key Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 13th hole, which requires a tee shot over water to a partial island green that rolls across dramatic elevation changes.

Approach to No. 9 Green Photo submitted by ShragMagtite on 10/09/2017
Lost key
Good conditions of course except some fairways roped to no carts in areas to assist in repairs/ recovery..
greens were excellent and tboxes good. Clubhouse was upscale and restaurant had good reviews. We had a good pace on a Monday at 10 am as not many on course due to colder temps. 3.5 hours/ 18 holes.. basically wide open. Carts had gps that wasn’t restricting by cart shut down. Had a hot deal by GNow app 62$
Lost Key = lost balls
A tight and challenging layout that was in decent shape. Playing on a holiday, it was very slow play., my only complaint.
Pristine Condition, awesome PoP
Play here 2 days in a row (Saturday 0948 and Sunday 0912).
Saturday I was a solo and anytime I came up on a group they immediately let me play through.
Sunday I was paired with someone and we didn’t see anyone else on the course. They appropriately space tee times which is nice. It almost makes the longer drive and couple extra bucks worth it.
Staff is all super friendly.
I would say course is for the intermediate player (tight fairways, layup required shots, sloped greens). The course was in perfect shape. Only a few uneven tee boxes which is my pet peeve.
Great Golf course it's tough you better be a straight driver of the ball!

Lost Balls
The course was beautiful and challenging. We found out after playing from locals that the nickname of the course is “Lost Ball” due to how the course layout impacts losing many golf balls. My husband and I enjoyed the round overall.
Great Shape
Course was in great shape except for a few fairways that were roped off to let them heal. Greens were very fast but once you got the speed down were great to putt on. Staff was very friendly and joined a couple that made the play enjoyable. Only drawback is that they are charging for range balls now. $8 for a very small bucket.
A Great Course
A wonderful golf experience. Super friendly staff and the course was in really good shape. I've already book another round!
The course is challenging.
I have played this course several times. It is fun but can be difficult if you don’t keep the ball in play. The greens were excellent and most fairways were good.
Good Course
No towels, no water on the cart no service at bag load or departure, charging for range balls now-don't slip too far because this is a great course to play on Perdido. Nothing on sale in pro shop. You get the impression, they don't care whether you are there or not.
A reasonable tract in the land of the overpriced
Lost Key is a winner both in price and quality. The staff enjoys interaction with players before and after the round. Ground crew is diligent but respectful of golfer. I play this course almost every time I’m in the area.
Great Day at Lost Key
We locals affectionately call this course
"Lost Ball" and on this occasion the course did not disappoint. Fortunately we found as many balls as we lost (some even better quality) so let's call it even. The greens were immaculate and the fairways well kept. The lateral hazards were daunting (of which there are many) so course management is a must. The Golfpass hot deal was the only way I would have played this course on the weekends and it was worth every penny (5,500 of them).
Tough track
The whole “Lost Ball” nickname is justified. OB left and right on basically every hole and as narrow as any course I’ve ever played. The greens were like carpets, but very very slow. We asked the Marshall if they were rolling 9 and he said an emphatic “MAYBE”. But the design of this course is very challenging. The scenery is nice though, it’s like golfing on a Florida safari.
