Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Will try again
Greens were rough due to Winter kill. It may take a while to get some of them back. Courteous golf course assistants. Enjoyed the round but had to invoke a 2 putt max.
Greens expansion
They have rehabbed this course completely and are currently making more improvements with green expansion. This will make this course much better than it's current state, witch is excellent.
June 12 Round
Love the course layout. I've been playing this course for over 25 years and still appreciate the course. Sadly, the greens are in pretty bad shape, They're putting the effort in to correct them, but it won't be this year and maybe not till the middle of 2026. Fairways are okay but every hole has bare dirt. Tee boxes need help but only the 9th is water logged. 3 years ago the course was in awful shape and the work made it delightful. I hope it improves over current conditions. I certainly wouldn't pay the $55 or $60 to play now.
Not the Best...
We had fun, but we had 3 main issues:
We finished our round 41 minutes ahead of pace (based on the golf cart GPS). However, 4 different marshals approached us about our pace of play because we were "holding up the group behind us". We were pretty tight to the group in front of us and were waiting to hit half the time.
The course had a lot of potential and could be beautiful. But the greens were atrocious and had huge bare spots and were very sandy.
The fairways, tee boxes & bunkers were all in good shape.
After we paid, we were told that the greens were recently aeriated, but we were still charged full price.
Poor greens
The greens had been aerated, but several of the greens appear to be almost totally lost.
If we had known…
Got there an hour before teetime and found the putting green had been punched and sanded. No warning from GN about this when I booked the round. Spoke to mgmt and they swore they had given the dates to GN. Even the fairways had been punched, making it very rough. Had we known, we would have gone elsewhere. Certainly not worth
$46! Not even sure it was worth $30! Will be a few weeks before we go back. Greens will be an issue for quite some time.
Disappointed
Payed 87.00 dollars and was not that all there Greens were HORRIBLE!
Average at best
The course had a great layout, but the greens were in very bad shape. Would play it agin if the greens were in better shape.
Well worth it
Buddy and I played the course for the first time in several years. Was beautiful and a great layout and much improved from what I remember. Some course repairs were still in progress but not in areas I should’ve been in to begin with so can’t fault that. Greens weren’t perfect but neither am I. Staff was great with every interaction we had. There’s a reason the place was packed when we played. Great local course and look forward to playing again.
Absolute terrible condition
I couldn’t believe the course was open, not a single green wasn’t torn up. Fairways were flooded with dirt and sand. Patches of random grass tiles were randomly installed everywhere on the course. Really terrible course in respect to the price!
Burnt
15 of the 18 greens are severely burnt due to over cutting and fertilizer. Hard to putt with chunks of sod and sand. It’s a great course and the layout is my personal favorite but the greens keepers need to do a better job in taken care of the course
Compared to 2 years ago, the course is much improved! It’s become my regular go to course. There are still some bald fairway patches but the groundskeeper is working on them. Several greens are also being repaired. It’ll get straight 5 Stars soon. BEWARE: there’s not a flat green… especially #4!
Greens need work
Greens need work which was acknowledged by the pro shop providing a discount on the greens fee.
Love the layout and friendly staff
The staff is so friendly, especially the cart lady! Very friendly!
Overall nice course
First time out this season so I can’t really compare it to other courses. I think the course suffered some this winter. The greens are pretty rough shape. A lot of bare areas. Makes for tough reads.
Fairways are in pretty good shape by comparison.
Hope the greens improve this season. I would love to play here again with the greens in their normal nice shape.
Fun layout
Course in decent shape. A few of the greens are dying off pretty typical for courses in our area
Florida golf
Marcus Point is a great golf course and always in great shape. the greens suffered a bit from the cold weather but the staff is addressing the problem
Condition
The greens were half dirt, some green/bent grass. Fairways brown and hard
