Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Greens
This course has come back from worse than bad to way above PAR. However the greens took a beating from the 10 plus inches of snow back in January. They are in the process of repairing patching and expanding the greens. Other than the greens current condition, this course and staff are absolutely 5 STAR. Come play and enjoy Marcus pointe golf course.
sunshine state
Marcus Pointe is one of my favorite courses to play and from tee to green it is still awesome. They experienced some problems with the greens and over the last few month's the maintenance crew has done a fab job in bringing them back. The greens should be in great shape in a few weeks.
The Home Owners
Dude out there walking his dog and giving free balls and kids telling you nice shot after you smash one. This place just feels good :)
Awesome Course
The course layout is challenging and tests all facets of your game. Definitely will visit again.
OTHER THAN A FEW GREENS THAT WERE STILL RECOVERING FROM THE WINTER STORM I FOUND THE COURSE TO BE A LOT OF FUN. I THOUGHT THE LAYOUT WAS GOOD WITH AN FEW GOOD RISK/REWARD HOLES THAT FORCED YOU TO REALLY WEIGHT YOUR OPTIONS.
WILL GO BACK NEXT TIME I AM IN TOWN
Good course
Fun course to play. There were some issues on the greens with bad spots Fairways have some issues but overall still good place to play
Great Layout
The course seems to be coming into form. The fairways are great and the greens are being repaired. I like to see this course in 2-3 months.
Course was great from tee to bunkers. But the greens?
Overall I really enjoyed the course. I played as a single with another threesome.
Course layout and difficulty was spot on. Challenging yet enjoyable with the splendor you find in Florida
Greens were in a big place. Areas with dead grass and sand due to typical effects from humid areas and constant mowing. They provided a discount at the pro shop but were misleading when they stated the greens had been punched. The discount didn’t cover the frustration of the greens.
We had to play grenade golf on the putts. Get it close and it counts. Apart from the greens, great course. The greens will heal but…
Green time's
This course has been brought back from the graveyard, witch speaks volumes for the grounds Crew and management. New ownership a couple of years back has rebounded this course and are currently healing the greens from the January snow fall. In addition to snow damage they are also expanding the greens surface area, which will further enhance the course.
Greens
Tees and fairways good greens were patchwork and may need 6-8 weeks of care hopefully better then
Saturday Morning with friends
Overall this course is great, however at the time we played the greens were still in disrepair due to a blight that killed the grass. They are working on getting them to top shape but will take a little time. Looking forward to playing back here in the fall.
Will try again
Greens were rough due to Winter kill. It may take a while to get some of them back. Courteous golf course assistants. Enjoyed the round but had to invoke a 2 putt max.
Greens expansion
They have rehabbed this course completely and are currently making more improvements with green expansion. This will make this course much better than it's current state, witch is excellent.
June 12 Round
Love the course layout. I've been playing this course for over 25 years and still appreciate the course. Sadly, the greens are in pretty bad shape, They're putting the effort in to correct them, but it won't be this year and maybe not till the middle of 2026. Fairways are okay but every hole has bare dirt. Tee boxes need help but only the 9th is water logged. 3 years ago the course was in awful shape and the work made it delightful. I hope it improves over current conditions. I certainly wouldn't pay the $55 or $60 to play now.
Not the Best...
We had fun, but we had 3 main issues:
We finished our round 41 minutes ahead of pace (based on the golf cart GPS). However, 4 different marshals approached us about our pace of play because we were "holding up the group behind us". We were pretty tight to the group in front of us and were waiting to hit half the time.
The course had a lot of potential and could be beautiful. But the greens were atrocious and had huge bare spots and were very sandy.
The fairways, tee boxes & bunkers were all in good shape.
After we paid, we were told that the greens were recently aeriated, but we were still charged full price.
Poor greens
The greens had been aerated, but several of the greens appear to be almost totally lost.
