No grass
I’m not sure if the lack of grass is a season issue, weather or lack of maintenance issue as I’m not from the area. But it made for a tougher round with only sand -and sticks to hit from.
Great Muni
Better than expected course especially off course amenities for a city course.
Friendly staff. A little back and forth in some places but fair layout and fun to play.
Greens a bit bumpy but still rolled better than expected.
Awesome Public Course
First time playing this course and it was a great course for the money. The course is a really easy course and great for my skill level. It’s very forgiving if you slice (like me). Playing out of another fairway still leaves in a position to Birdie. I will most definitely play it again and it’s only 10 minutes from the house.
Challenging Greens
My favorite course. Don't let the greens fool you. Tricky! If you don't pay attention, the ball can go sailing past the hole on these undulating greens. Always a pleasure to play this Muni course built in the 1920s, during the heyday of American golf.
Love this Historic Course But Marshall Wasn't Marshalling
I play this wonderful Course exclusively. But one must have the Patience of JOB to play before/during/after any holiday. Either no marshalls, or such as today, Osceola actually had a Marshall who would not pick up the pace of play. (I know, because I asked the Marshall. Didn't happen.)
People nowadays have limited attention spans-- golf participation is declining because of this. Will the CITY "wake up" and realized that we'd all play more often if you'd get Marshall(s) who actually do their job of keeping the Pace of Play and asking POKEY groups to let faster players "play through?" It's the etiquette of golf Rules. They're for a reason!
Winter is fast approaching
Fairway Bermuda is fading. Greens in good shape and always challenging.
Need Marshalls on Busy Holiday Play Prevents Agonizing Delays
I love this time-honored Course. My favorite. Play today was AGONY. Got behind a pokey 5-some who forgot their golf etiquette of allowing faster groups to "play through." On Hole-#12 when I came up, there were FOUR golf carts piled up waiting there. Management seriously needs to arrange for Marshalls when you KNOW it's going to be super busy on a Holiday e.g. Veteran's Day.
LOVE Osceola So Much I Play in Frosty Conditions!
I love this friendly (in so many ways) Muni course so much I went out today in 13+ mph winds, 58F. degree WET weather to play. Alas, got rained out after the first hole, but I'll be back. Staff super friendly, welcoming-- a real PLUS. The Old Municipal courses really are the prizes in the golf world. Osceola is my go-to for Golf.
Straight and narrow
Good course to work on your game. All of the holes are straight away. The course is in great condition.
Great muni course
Course was in very good shape considering how dry the past month has been. Individual manning desk in pro shop was delightful. He was happy to help us and added to an excellent experience.
Excellent golf Course
This is my first time playing this golf course, and on Thursday. The golf course is pretty busy from 7 to 11:30 in the morning... The pro shop staff told me that there's been a league going on every Thursday for over 20 years. So try not to play there during those days and hours.
Over all we had a good time, and yes I would recommend this golf course to any level of golf course.
Great deal
Played at noon on a hot deal! Well worth it to play this fun muni. Layout was good. I had to work the ball both ways off the tee which is always a nice change. Can’t best the deal. Greens weren’t fast but weren’t crazy slow either. Yes there were dry spots and the bunkers weren’t perfect but I played 18 with my son riding in the cart in under 2 hours!
Perfect muni!
