Stay away....far away!
Worst conditioned course I've played in a least 20 years. Greens slow, bumpy. full of sand patches. Tee boxes uncut, not level, shabby. Fairways are grass-less hardpan Rough is non-existent. Quirky layout. MIke Sullivan, pro shop employee, assured me before the round that course conditions were 9.5 out of 10. What an absolute joke! Would not play this cow pasture ever again. On a positive note: Clubhouse is an impressive structure but should be sold with proceeds spent on course improvement. This course is years away from being playable.
Course
For the amount of rain we have had in the past month or so. The course was surprisingly dry. Lot of roll. Lots of courses in the area are mud holes. Get a couple weeks of dry weather they will have time to get this course cleaned up.
But more rain in the forecast.
Pace was slow today. But it's Sunday.
Price is right
Course was in generally good shape. Greens were really good and fast. Nice to play out of soft sand bunkers.
Good course for all levels of players.
Staff was very nice and the beverage girl was on spot all day.
Fun, Affordable Golf
This course to me was classic Florida municipal golf. No frills, affordable, and in very good shape. Some subtle elevation changes made this course more interesting.
The front nine was pretty tight -- out of bounds to the left of holes 5, 7, 8, 9, and OB behind hole 6. The back nine opens up a bit more, but there is still OB on holes 10, 11, 12, and 18. The Bermuda grass fairways and greens were in good shape.
This course was fun for me. Challenging enough to keep your attention, but not punitive enough to make you walk off mad. I'll play it again when I'm in the Pensacola area.
Good spot for novice-golfer!
Osceola is a very open course. Very friendly staff. Location in West Pensacola. We had a very fast pace of play with no interruptions. Course was in very good condition. No complaints. Not a "country club" atmosphere at all (I say that in a good way!). Nice clubhouse and bar. Good prices. Food was good quality. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
Osceola Municipal Golf course 8/12/18
The staff was very friendly and helpful! I was somewhat disappointed in the course conditions - all areas (tee boxes, fairways and greens) were very dry. I joked with my playing partners that the sand traps were in the best condition.
Great time for a great price
Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Course was a lot of fun. Can’t beat the price 10 bucks for a round here with a cart wow!!
Vacation
Great public course nice staff accommodated my request to play with out a group as I requested even though the course was full the marshal was excellent
Course in good shape.
An overall good experience. Course was in good shape. Greens were slow, but plenty of grass. Fairways were excellent. Got behind a slow 5-some. Pace was a little slow. Staff was very nice.
Layout was the only upside
For the price you pay, you can easily go to a nearby course and get more bang for your buck. The layout here is actually pretty fun, but the condition of the course itself doesn’t support it. Feels like course maintenance is the afterthought here.
horrible day
We’ve had some tough weather conditions lately with the heat so the brown fairways I will give a pass for. The greens were recently aerated and there was sand all over them; putting was impossible. I have played this course many times and this was the worst that I have seen it. It was 96 degrees outside and the cart girl didn’t come around once. Waited inside at the grill for 15 min to get a Gatorade. C’mon man, y’all have to do better at the simple stuff. I wouldn’t recommend playing this course right now unless you can get it for $10
Review of Osceola G C
The fairways were bare in places and the greens were bare in places. The course is wide open and fun to play, but needs better care to make in tip top shape.
Redneck round
My wife and I came from ft Walton to golf Osceola. Good price from golf now. Staff all very friendly and helpful. The course needs a lot of work but I can live with that The main issue we had and I explained it to the gentleman in the pro shop after we finished was a 4some came in front of us at the turn. It was explained that they must be members because there was no record of a booked tee time They played very slow probably because they were drunk. We saw them all drinking in the restaurant before we teed off they took several extra shots and actually hit at the maintenance truck as it crossed the fairway on 17. Wow!! I read prior to playing the main issue with this course isn’t the poor condition, it’s some of the members lack of courtesy and proper golf etiquette. I had no idea it was so bad. Won’t return and will warn my friends sad very sad and saw 1 warden all day early on the front 9. Saw the drink girl more
Municipal Course
It is what it is. Greens were in terrible condition with bare spots and unseen pocks around the holes. Layout is OK, ball rolls a "mile" with the hard ground.
Goat Track of the Ages
This course was the worst course I have ever played on, I have no idea who reviewed it and said it was good, the fairways look like a cow pasture, there was no grass anywhere hardly. The cart girl was from Russia, could hardly speak English and stayed in the club house the whole time ....this course is not worth 10 dollar for 18 holes
