About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Great layout..Slow play
This was my first time playing this course. I thought it was a fairly challenging course layout. Maybe some more course knowledge it would play easier. A lot of tight lies in the fairways and bumpy greens. It seems the greens where still growing back from aeration. No starter so people where just going out whenever. Some people let me play through and I ended up playing with another single. We then we grinded to a halt on 9 and joined another twosome. Overall decent experience. The course need marshals and starters to maintain pace of play.

Cart path only
For some reason unknown to me and my playing partner we found ourselves playing an extremely long golf course with cart path only conditions. We could not understand why they had cart path only considering how dry and hard the fairways were.
We only played 10 holes when we finally gave up due to fatigue and thirst bc the only time we saw the beverage cart was in the parking lot before we teed off, so that was a bummer for sure. Anyone who plays the course better bring their long game bc you will need it. Mc

Cart path only, why?
The course was in pretty good shape but it was cart path only. The course was very firm and once morning dew burned off, it actually became hard. The round could have been 3:45 but it was over 5 hours because it was cart path only.

Great conditions, but slow play
This is a very nice course, in great condition. The pace of play, though, was awful. I gave up on the 11th hole after 2and-a-half hours, and two groups waiting on the tee. I will try again, though.

Great shape!
A few years ago, I thought this course would never recover. Over the last year or so, it has made a remarkable change. Kudos to the greens keepers and the staff at Crystal Lake! The greens are immaculate, fairways are beautiful, and tee boxes are well maintained. I love this course. The only negative is that it doesn’t go back to the clubhouse after the 9th hole, so be sure to grab waters etc before heading out. Would really be nice to have a small refreshment station between 9 and 10 with sandwiches and drinks.
