Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Golfer Reviews
Crystal Lakes
Straight to the by point, course should be on a lot better shape for the money it gets from its many subdivision residents and the high green fees they charge players. Course layout is nice with a combination of challenging & not so challenging holes. Great scenery with several holes placed around the main subdivisions’ lake. Staff is friendly with timely cart girls right when you need them. But back to course conditions, greens have gone down. Fungus areas on just about every hole. Bunkers need attention. There’s no grass or weeds growing in them but it’s like hard dirt opposed to soft sand. I understand Crystal Lake is a public course, but it supposed to be a gem on the southside of Atlanta but falls extremely short of that. The Crystal Lake subdivision is home to many of Atlanta’s elite, high profile residents who pay extremely high HOA monthly dues that for the most part that should go to course upkeep. Right now, it’s obvious that this is not the case. Disappointed golfer on the southside!!!
We appreciate you honest review and rating, and hope you'll give us another try.
Typical Winter Conditions
Course wasn’t bad. Typical winter fairways. Greens in decent shape. Paying at the course would have been $15 cheaper
Thanks for your feedback, and we hope to see you back soon!

Firm fairways and greens
Beautiful course. Firmest winter fairways in the Atlanta metro area. Unfortunately, the greens were, too. We had multiple good shots to greens short of the pins that bounced hard and went over the greens. Maybe a little rain or watering might solve that problem. Nevertheless, it's worth the drive South of Atlanta.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you had a good time, and we hope you'll visit again soon!
Bad Shape
The greens were in terrible shape - people not replacing divots and many spots that were completely burned out. You could hit a great shot, but the greens were hard as a rock and the ball would bounce 10 feet in the air and go of off the green (this was on a day when it was 60 degrees). Sand traps are mostly mud and dirt. There are a few sand traps with a shallow layer of sand. This was usually my home course, but I think I will give it a while before I go back. Appears that they are not taking care of the course at all.
Thanks for your honest feedback, and we hope you'll give us another try in the future.

Traps were horrible condition… no sand at all. Unplayable
Lack of care and organization for a “country club”
Well where do I start? Let me just say if you are expecting to get some lunch/drinks at the turn then you will be highly disappointed. Once you start on the 1st hole this course does not return to the clubhouse until after your round, very rarely is there a drink cart available. If you have a tee time expect not to go off on time as walk ups just go off as they see fit…no one is keeping any sort of order when it comes to who is supposed to tee off next. Also there is a 2 person per cart “rule”. This also is not enforced as there was numerous people playing together but riding separate, causing a shortage of carts and having to wait for ones to become available. The pace of play is undeniably some of the worst I have seen in many courses. If you are looking for a 4 hour or so round then I would not go here. The clientele is seriously lacking in a sense of time as well as etiquette. People blasting loud rap music from there carts while on the practice green which is adjacent to the first tee box, really classy. One thing positive I can say is the greens are always in decent shape, which is surprising as most of the players who play here love to drag there feet while walking on the greens…I.e. Laziness. None of the bunkers have any sort of decent sand and most actually are filled with pebbles so be careful if you have to play out of them. I probably shouldn’t give this course a 3 out of 5 but the green condition saved them.
We hope to welcome you back again soon!
The pace of play was the only bad part of the round,2 of us played behind a 4some all day and figured at some point they would eventually let us play thru but it never happened, really aggravating! LET FASTER PLAYERS PLAY THRU ALWAYS!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, and we hope to see you back again soon!
We're so glad you had a 5 star round!
