Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club

My husband and I play this course at least once a year and Monday (11-01-2021) was that day.

The weather was a bit nippy on the front but turned into a picture perfect golf day at the turn.

The greens rolled true but some had bald spots on the edge. The sand traps were hard and packed so stay out of the traps unless you can hit well out of them when they are hard.

The staff inside and out were fantastic. One of the guys in our flight was about ten minutes late and they allowed us to wait on him which really worked out well as the flight behind us were waiting on some mates as well.

NOW THEN,

The beef hotdog and fries were really, really good and were the jumbo hotdogs and not those small dogs that get swallowed up in the bun as I expected because as of this date, the hotdog and fries only costed "THREE DOLLARS" YES you read that right just $3 for the type of hotdog I expected to pay $5 for alone not to mentioned the generous amount of fries that accompanied the dog.

My husband decided to purchase himself one after our round from the food and beverage shop which is operated and own by Mr. Quinn who is a really reasonable and Godly man.

There was no way my husband was going to share his meal with me so he purchased me a second order as well.

Even if the price were to go up to $5 for a hotdog and fries during the 2022 season, I plan to place an order for sure and will probably play earlier in the year just for the hotdog and maybe have a side order of "golf".

Played this course many times this year and the greens are the worse they’ve been. I can’t understand why. Such a shame for a fun track

Great customer service at sign in. Easy to use range. Course in good condition overall. Not a difficult layout from white tees and greens not tricky but a bit slow and not consistent speeds. Traps need material added. A bit confusing routes from hole to hole and could use better signage. Cart beverage staff friendly and clubhouse food and service was very good! Will be back again!

Good course like layout, in need of some TLC after a week of rain.

It has been several years or more since I played this course. The first thing I recognized was the poor condition of the greens. Very spotty on every hole. Disapponting. Does not appear there is much interest in keeping the course up for the patrons. Hope they make an efforr to get it right.

Beauty!! Challenging in some stretches but well maintained, and easy to navigate. Fairways were plush. par 3s were worthy; well bunkered.

greens have some size and roll and better be on the right level. fairways were great hilly but played long.

The course overall is challenging and fun. But the greens are riddled with weeds and disease. Can't believe they charge full greens fees!

The greens were in bad shape. Disease or something. Disappointing.

Areas on the course are being neglected, not sure if it's due to covid or lack of funding, but even the bridges need work with wood rotten on cart path, driving range looked like a cow pasture. The property seems a little run down and just needs some maintenance.

Course is in great condition. Would definitely play here again.

Played here approx two months ago and it is was in immaculate shape. This time they had just aerated and many of the greens seemed diseased. At least one of the sand traps were hard packed dirt and over all many were in poor shape. I love this course and the layout but was really disappointed this visit.
