Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club

I love this course. One of the best courses south of I-20 in Atlanta. Unfortunately the course is not in great condition this week. I understand the the greens need to be aerated and the area has taken on a lot of rain over the past few week. What upsets me is when the course conditions are not properly stated online. This course had no sand in the bunkers, some were filled with water. The greens were recently aerated and were covered with sand. Had I know this, I would have went to another course. I booked on Golfnow and there was no mentioned of the aeration. Also the course was rated at 4-stars. It is at best a 3-star course today. Just wanted to alarm other golfers.

I have played Crystal Lake many times in the past, including when the rough was extremely deep. The rough has been mowed down, making play a bit friendlier. Unfortunately, the current owners have let the bunkers go. Recommendation: don't hit out of the bunkers unless you don't care about your clubs. Rocks! Other than that, this course is very nice.

Greens are fast and in good condition. Challenging layout with risk reward tee shots. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Crystal Lakes has been a go to course for me for 5 yrs or so. Great track with very acceptable grounds keeping. Easy going attitude in the pro shop and relaxed atmosphere on the range. A value all around. If you are looking for a solid round start at Crystal Lakes.

I was visiting Georgia with friends and found this course on Golf now. What a great and beautiful course. Perfect condition, weather and course management. I plan on going back to Georgia and would play this course again for sure.

I really enjoy playing this Course - nice layout, decent conditions, nice staff. And its a good thing I enjoy it, because I sure got to be on it for a while! Both times I have played lately, it was a near 5 hour round due to 4somes ahead of me who were terminally slow, and never heard of the idea of letting people play through. The course could use a marshall and a beverage cart. Great value for the money though.

Tee off at noon on a beautiful fall day.

The clubhouse is nice looking and parking is close.

Driving range is tired but large and good value. Warm up bucket $5. No gps on cart. Bring a range finder or use your app. You need it for first timers. Plenty of tee options. Course in good shape. Fun links style layout. No lost balls today! Greens look good, a little slower pace but rolled true.

Too bad this isn’t a little closer to atl. I would be here often. Overall nice track and good value.

Great course. Didn't play worth a darn that day but that wasn't the course's fault. Will definitely play here again soon.

Crystal Lake has fared well through the severe drought in Clayton and Henry County. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in very playable shape.

There is no turn at this course so stock up at the clubhouse before you set out on number 1.

There are several blind tee shots so it does take a few rounds to remember where the landing areas are located.

Quite a few risk reward shots so you can play conservative or accept the challenge.

Greens are showing damage from unrepaired ball marks and sprigs of fescue, along with some small black spots. They are still very puttable.

Over all it is a fun and fair test of your golf game and an affordable value. I will return.

Have played this course for several years. Never disappointed. Pace of play can be slow at times.

Tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Chipping areas in great shape. The greens have some black spots and fescue sprigs. Great Value. Good pace of play. Challenging layout. In good shape for the current drought conditions in the area. Please repair your ball marks on the greens.

The absolute slowest pace of golf our group has played at courses in the Atlanta area over the past 4 years. No sight of a Ranger all day to talk to the GROUPS in front of us.

Course layout has you going out, and never returning to the clubhouse until hole 18. This is fine, except that the drink cart finally showed up at hole 12 sporting an assortment of sodas and beers. Not a single Powerade or Gatorade available. 96 degrees at 5 hrs and 20 minutes was brutal.

Greens were good. Course was dry and a lot of deadpan, but understandable for the lack of rain and heat that we've had.
