Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club

Played 18 course was in pretty good condition especially since they had received a bit over 5 inches of rain in the two days previous to our round. The greens had been aerated a few days earlier, considering all they were in fair condition for bent grass in the summer heat of the south. Overall a pretty nice golf course the fact that you do not return to the club house area until you complete the 18th can be a little difficult, make sure you get drinks before you start, most days there is not a cart girl on course.

My Dad and I enjoyed the course but the pace of play on the front nine was pretty bad. We played behind a threesome and they weren't familiar with the term - Ready Golf. But they finally gave up and left after 8 holes -- then the pace was fine.
The course was in pretty good shape - fairways were ok even with all the weeds. The greens were in pretty good shape considering the weather -- love bent greens. The overall experience was good but I couldn't believe that a course of this caliber wouldn't have club covers on the cart. We had a brief shower on 17 and 18 - without the club cover attached to the cart -- we had to use our towels.

I always enjoy playing at Crystal Lakes. Its very well maintained challenging

Enjoyable yet challenging loop. Bring water!! There is no clubhouse stop between 9 & 10. Ensure you follow the signs, holes 11 & 12 are off to the side. We missed the sign and went from 10 to 13 and had to go back. Would definitely recommend! We are going back tomorrow

Great conditions, friendly staff, and a great layout!
Even with a tournament going on pace of play was good, right under four hours!

I played this course on Sunday 8/9/2015, tee time 4:24. I was paired with 3 other gentlemen. We started behind another 4 some that was soooo slow, we did not finish. 4 1/2 hours to play 16 holes.
The greens need work, lots of brown spots. All creeks were grown up and unsightly.
The man in the clubhouse is very unfriendly to golfnow guests.

Overall good course when booked on Golfnow. Ball placement is key to a good score.
Pros - Well maintained fairways. Course facilities are nice.
Cons - Greens need some tlc. Were not in good condition. Outward nine does not play back into clubhouse. So, once you're out, your out until the 18th green.

5-hr round on a Friday morning. No ranger in sight. Greens were too soft and really beat up from ballmarks. Won't be back.

The proshop staff was incredible. The bar staff not so much, irritated that we asked for a cup of ice (96 degrees outside). There was not a water cooler on the range (96 degrees outside), and both water coolers on the course were empty (96 degrees outside). The course itself was excellent. The fairways were immaculate. The greens were okay, it is obvious that there had been a lot of recent play (repair your divots people!). Teed off at 3:56 and finished at 7:40, great pace for a weekend afternoon. All in all a great deal for a really goods course. Just please make more water available!

I have played the course three times now and finally have developed a strategy on how to play the course. I enjoy the views that the course offers and the difficulties and challenges as well...I want to take advantage of the membership but I'm afraid Afterschool starts I won't be able to play as much. The greens are in excellent shape but for a few ball marks... I think people need a tutorial on how to fix ball marks. I think it would save so many greens.

The course was in outstanding condition, if you are a novice golfer then it is the perfect course for you. Very open with little water so it is easy to find errant shots.

I was not expecting such a great golfing experience as a first time visitor. The starter was very friendly and got us off early. The course was as challenging as we wanted with five tee locations to choose from. The weather was perfect and we completed 18 holes on a Saturday morning in 3 hours 15 minutes. We will be back very soon.

Course in above average condition from tee to green. Interesting holes. Dependent upon yardage/tees you're playing may need to check landing areas before your tee shot to avoid trouble areas. Do you suggest additional water coolers on course with temps in mid 90's. Not a walking course due to distant between some tees

I played this course about 15 times and I always notice the conditions are getting better

I've played this course a number of times and it's condition has varied from poor to good. The course is in great shape and the greens are fair and true. Had a great round, the course continues to improve every time I play. I'll be back!! especially the HOT DEAL!!

Very good course,however, we were behind a foursome that would not let anyone play through. Our round took 4.5 hours. Unacceptable. They need to invest in a ranger.

I do not recomend this course for golfnow players. I was told by the man running the check in counter that golfnow members must ride with others that book the same time. This man also said he does not like golfnow, he wished the couse would discontinue all ties with golfnow. He allowed course members to ride single, but golfnow folks could not. I was paired with a gentleman that was playing 2 tee boxes ahead of me and that is not fun for either of us. I have played this course many times before, this was the first time this has happened.

Truly impressed with course and staff! Would definitely play again.

The course was in Great shape, the greens rolled true & fast. Enjoyed my outing

This place is really a good value and in great shape. Open and long, but scoreable since the greens a nice. You'll be using driver and driving far between tees. They need some better yardage markers and ball cleaners, but that's only knock on this place. I'll be back.
