Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Golfer Reviews

We have played this course for years. The fairways were a little thin and very dry. The greens were rolling true. We are planning to return and hopefully the fairways will be in better condition. I would recommend this course.
I will be back
I've played this course a few times and its always been in pretty good shape with exception of last year when the drought hit all courses pretty hard. Greens were fast but not crazy and required both touch and positioning. Fairways a bit thin but excused because its so early in the season. Overall a great course.
Great course, great bar and food!
I play this course often and others less so. Why? Because it is an awesome layout with very good fairways and the greens are really getting fast after the crew has the ability to work on growing grass (smooth and green!). The staff are very respectful of guests choosing to play and the members truly seem to enjoy meeting new golfing buddies. I've been email by a couple of members to make a tee time a time or two. After round beer and grub has been for a great way to just relax. Only con, it can get busy and pace of play on the weekends or Tuesday (seniors group - huge!) can make for a 4 3/4 hour round sometimes.
crystal lake
Great course in an upscale building development, conditions were very nice. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The four of us had lunch in the clubhouse and took a 6 pack deal out on the course ($15) We asked about a replay round and they offered us the cart fee ($20) AWESOME
The Place is in Bad Shape
I have played Crystal Lake numerous times and for a number of years, but yesterday the course was in the worst condition that I have ever seen. The tee boxes were brutal, the fairways are all dead, and there is so much thatch that its like hitting out of dirt. The greens were in fair condition, but not nearly to their usual standard. Their normal rate on the weekend is $54. I have played courses for $14 that were in better condition that Crystal Lake is right now. It seems that Green Valley Golf Group has done the same thing here that they did at Cotton Fields, let the place go and not put time, money, and effort into the course. I will not play here again and would not recommend anyone waste their time or money.
People EVERYWHERE like Ants
This used to be a great course but if you go there, be aware, there will be people everywhere... like ants... all over the golf course. It's like a singles party every time I go there. People skipping holes, jumping ahead of other groups. When I was there this week, there was an 8'some playing their weekly dogfight with groups stacked up behind them waiting.
Cart rules are very poorly enforced and there are new "cart trails" all over the course, most of the time leaving the green area on the opposite side of where the cartpath is. The membership and regulars do not take care of the course. Very little grass on the fairways. The range and practice area are in terrible shape.
It's a shame really. Great layout. Course has been completely abused.
This course is fun and beautiful.
This is my first time playing this course. I enjoyed the beautiful layout and scenery. I am putting this course in my rotation.
Great course
Had a great time at crystal lake! The greens were just aerated but that didn't bother me too bad. The layout of the course is a lot of fun. I used ever club in my bag.
Excellent
The overall conditions of the course are excellent.
Tees/Fairways are in good shape for the winter. The Greens are in the best condition all year.
Restaurant service after the round was exceptional.
Hey liked it
Decent winter conditions, minus a lot if the sand bunkers. Fast greens.
A few problems
This course is an interesting layout. Some beautiful and fun to play holes. Greens were in great shape. Played in high winds which made it really a tough layout, even from the forward tees. There are a couple of big issues. Course goes out and doesn't return to the clubhouse after 9 holes and there is no halfway house. Only two water stops and three port-a-potties. No cart girl. It was a weekday. Most irritating was there was no yardages. Not on sprinklers, strips on the cart paths or stakes. Pro shop folks were friendly but couldn't get waited on in the 19th hole. Counter man apparently had an extremely important phone call and couldn't take time to take orders.
Challenging but good layout
Depending on which tees you play from, can be very challenging.
Has a great mix of shorter and long holes.
Great variety.
Greens in good shape.
Thank you "Adam6944030"!

Always love this course. Fair and mostly open. And then there is the Cheeseburger.
Hey "u000006790553" thank you for the positive review! Come back again soon.
Friday play
Played here a few times and in general, I like playing
here. Only quibble I have is sometimes pace of play can be quite slow. Also would be nice if grounds staff clears the leaves on a timely basis in the fall.
Hi "olumide1" thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We apologize that the pace of play was a little slow but we still hope to see you back here soon!
Great golf course
