Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Best greens south of Atlanta
These guys really know how to manage their greens. The condition is spectacular . This is a great course, challenging and able to get to the par 5s in two with perfect shots. 4-6 are the toughest holes....love this track.
This course is challenging with some very competitive holes.
This is a Great course that is very well maintained. It has some very challenging holes as well, holes number 4 a blind par 4 from the tee, 5 a long par 3, 6 looks long, 8 a tricky par 5, 11 a water front par 4, 14 a blistering dog leg right par 4.... I like this course, it gives up nothing and it really makes you play it in order to get a low finish or it will finish you!!!
Nice track but gets backed up easily
Course is in great shape and the hot deal is a great value. However, there always seems to be a slow foursome that refuses to let faster groups play through. The course doesn't go back to the clubhouse until 18 which makes impossible to start on back 9 if it was crowded.
Great course BUT....
The rangers need to do their job and keep pace of play up. We got backed up on every hole after the 2nd hole...
Don't schedule
Don't schedule a tournament then book a full day. It took 6 hrs to play.
adequate staff
course was in good shape however they did not have a marshal to monitor speed of play, players jumping around everywhere which caused a lot of confusion. spoke to staff about it and they made excuses and never tried to make it better.
bang for your buck
the course was very challenging depending upon the tee box you choose. The facility and the staff was really nice. I definitely would recommend this course and look forward to playing it again.
Come Get Some
Crystal Lake continuously provides a challenge each time I play the course. It is in great shape considering the weather we've had this year. There are several tee boxes that will stress golfers of any level. If you believe your game is tight, Come Get Some! It will give you all you want to handle.
Good Course - Fairways Fair
The fairways were almost absent of grass in some areas due to snow and rain. Should be in great condition by spring. Don't let that deter you for now. Enjoy a great layout.
One of my favorite places to golf south of Atlanta.
Crystal Lakes golf course has a lot to offer! Great views, many risk/reward holes, challenging holes where shot placement is key and it can even play long depending on your skill and comfort. It is a track with something special for every golfer.
Need a marshall
On a busy Saturday afternoon the course can get filled up and sometimes there's nowhere to go. Nothing is as frustrating as having to wait on a clueless foursome. After waiting on several holes and seeing the group ahead leave them in their dust, we eventually gave up and skipped a hole to get done by dark. Of the 17 holes we played, they were in pretty good shape considering the season. nice practice area and clubhouse.
One of Atlanta's Gems!
This course is one of Atlanta's gems. The course is always well maintained and this day was the same. I have only played once or twice previously. Immaculate fairways and greens. Great value!
The Greens in good shape, fairways excellent for.....
The Greens in good shape, fairways excellent for the amount of rain and being the Winter season. The staff works very hard to quickly get the numerous bunkers and traps back in shape after downpours, pulling the sand back to the edges. I play this course as often as possible and have invited many first time players to the course who quickly return as I have done over the past couple of years. Only down side, the course does not return to the clubhouse after #9. Crystal Lake and Eagle's Brook are the best courses on the southside of Atlanta. I have played all public courses from Newnan to College Park to Stone Mountain, and several on the norhside. Both of these courses are better than most on than the more expensives tracks up there.
course is horrible condition
The greens are pock marked with ball marks. The fairways are brown and dead which makes hitting the ball similar to hitting the ball off the parking lot. Therefore, and by default, everything is a tight lie. Not a good golf experience and even at a reduced rate not really worth the cost. A shame because I'm sure it's a beautiful course when the grass is alive and the greens tended to.............but until then, I won't be back.
Fun, challenging course with a very different look
Fun, links-style track. Good layout with interesting holes. Totally different look than typical Atlanta - especially north Georgia courses.
Played the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Almost empty and I got in 31 holes playing 2 balls in 5 hours.
They don't overseed so the only 'green' to be seen are the greens themselves - but that works for the whole 'links' feel.
Only complaints are (1) non-existent yardage markers except for the 150 and 200 in the center of the fairways, and (2) 'players' tees would be nice - played the blues at 6450 rather than the whites at 5950. A mix around 6200 would have been nice.
Neat course though; I'll go back.
This course is very challenging due to the amount of sand traps. Be sure to play from appropriate tee boxes!
Very enjoyable! This was my first time playing Crystal Lakes and I was very impressed with the course lay out. The course can be manageable if played from proper tee boxes.(this will help avoid fairway bunkers). The greens were excellent and the fairways dormant this time of year. Kudos to the friendly clubhouse staff for retrieving clothing articles left behind in golf cart. Thanks!
Greens are good and true.
This course is well maintained. The greens are exceptional. Great course for long hitters and not too difficult.
Quiet course in great condition
This links style course is well maintained and challenging. Nice lake setting, the course is made more difficult by the use of wetlands and well placed bunkers. I look forward to playing this course again now that I know something about the hazards.
Very nice track, we'll maintained. Friendly staff.
First time to play the course, Oct 31,2013. Greeted by super nice pro shop staff. Course is challenging, but not unnecessarily difficult from mostly blue tees. Very we'll maintained. Only complaint was slow play, with no marshaling to move things alone. And no beverage cart with no return to clubhouse anywhere during round. Otherwise, great day of golf for reasonable rates.
always have a good experience
Polite staff. Course well maintained and greens in nice condition
