Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club
About
Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club sprawls across a scenic landscape of native wetlands, an abundance of hardwood trees, and a generous smattering of meandering creeks and sparkling lakes. The beautiful terrain sets it apart from other golf courses in the Atlanta area. The course is known for the numerous grass-walled bunkers filled with pristine white sand that are strategically placed throughout. The player-friendly greens are wide and approachable, but there is the occasional multi-tier to watch out for. The generous nature of the greens also allows for a variety of pin placements. The natural features of the landscape at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club not only provide beautiful scenery but they also make for a more interesting game since they require you to get creative with your shot-making, especially when trying to figure out how to handle some of the tricky carries.

Always ready for golf !! Photo submitted by moorem815 on 07/22/2018
Lots of different kinds of holes.
Played a little shorter than advertised but was a good value for the $$$.
Very challenging and enjoyable
Very nice course. Worth the money and time. Worth the drive from downtown.
Fun and Challenging course
The course was in great shape, we still managed to loose a few fairway balls? But that's goes any where.
Great value for the hot deal price.
Will play again.
Challenging Course
This course is always a challenge and is a great layout with scenic views.
My favorite local course
What a fun course. The Fairways were in excellent condition - the greens were being aerated. Lots and lots of bunkers - plenty of hazards - challenging holes. All things concidered this is my favorite local course.
Fun layout, dissappointing greens. Still worth playing.
Playing this course has become a bit of a tradition for me when I visit the Atlanta area twice a year. It is a fun layout, and it is nice to play on some hills for a change (none in FL). Overall the course is in pretty good shape, but the greens had not been cut in a while and there were remnants from punching them and a lot of unrepaired pitch marks. The times I have played here before the course was in much better condition. I still enjoyed it, but you should come with lowered expectations for a while. The staff was very friendly, and I played as a single in under 3 hours on a Thursday afternoon.
Great Course for the Money, Excellent Condition
Layout is great for the average golfer. For the folks that get it out there on the drive 240-300 you could run into some problems if you aren't REALLY accurate.
There are several doglegs and some strategically placed bunkers and "natural" areas that tend to find balls as well.
Really enjoyed driving 1 of the par 4's, there are probably 2 - 4's that can be driven, and 2 - 5's fairly easy to get to in 2. Just don't miss because you will pay for it.
Greens AND fairways were in excellent condition.
Will be back !
Unfriendly
My wife and I played this course on 9/28/2013. We had a 9:33 tee time. Staff was friendly, players were not. We played as a twosome. Another twosome was asked if they wanted to join us and they refused. I guess they didn't want to play with a woman. We knew it would be slow play as there were only foursomes in front of us. Teed off 10 mins late. It took 2 hours 40 mins to play the front nine. The back was no better. We played at a relaxed pace so we wouldn't have to wait too long on each shot. The twosome behind us apparently did the same thing as we rarely saw them waiting for us.
The front nine greens were terrible. Worst I have ever seen! They had been aerated a couple of weeks earlier but were never taken care of after that it seems. Ball marks and old cups had a shiny black look to them. You couldn't hit a straight putt if you tried.
Back nine greens were better, and my score showed. I was 9 over on the front and even par on the back.
No marshals to help speed things up. A foursome of college aged guys were playing ahead of us. They should have moved up a set of tees. They rarely hit the fairway and spent time on each hole looking for someone's ball.
I would not play this course again.
GET THE GREENS REPAIRED, No place to go on the back nine!
The greens were just aerated lots of holes , the customer should not have to pay as much when the greens are this bad. Their were not ball washers, trash cans, on the course . Also I needed to go to the bath room but their were no bathrooms on the back nine no place to go after buying beer from the cart girl. Lastly most courses come back by the club house half way on the course, this way they can pick up a bit to eat and the course could make a little more money. Number 10 hole should be closer in to the club house.
Challenging holes
Greens haven't recovered from aerating. Needs some attention.
Is a good Golf Course
This golf course is nice in design and nices houses around but the greens was with aerification and was not in good condition
Great fairways
Great course. Greens were just arrirated so they were not in the best condition.( which was expected) course looks really good! Will be back!
fairways
This is a good course for the money...the Fairways need a little more TLC and the rough is a little to rough (high). Overall an enjoyable course give it a try.
GOLFNOW member a 2nd class citizen at Crystal Lake???
My friend and I had a tee time but we were bumped 20 minutes. We were bumped to allow their club members to play first. The clubhouse, not the starter, sent out 2 groups ahead of me and my buddy (2 some). The clubhouse sent out a 3 some and then a 4 some. The starter wanted to send us out first but the clubhouse had different IDEAS about course management. The club members asked us to go first but the clubhouse gave that a thumbs down. Felt like a spare tire - unwanted - 2nd class citizen.
The couse was goodl, lake is "CRYSTAL CLEAR", pin placement was excellent, marshall and the beverage cart ran like clock work, members are exceptional, clubhouse not so much, rough was a bit too high. Overall a good course. But still it was an unpleasant experience, that is if your are a GOLFNOW member play here!!! NO RESPECT!!!
The course is very beautiful and challenging
This course is one of the best courses I have played on the southside. It has beautiful scenary, challenging greens and pin locations. It has become my favorite course to visit with only one visit. You will enjoy playing at this course. The clubhouse is immaculate and the service is very friendly.
For the price, this was an excellent deal.
The course has always been a challenging course, but the condition of the course even with a recent airification were great. The greens rolled well after being punched and the fairways were 75% perfect, 25% waiting on the mower. Tee boxes have been manicured which makes the presentation excellent. Fairways on #4 - #6 need attention as weeds were plentiful.
TERRIBLE
The greens were unputtable. the had fungus problems. When I went to the pro shop to mention the conditions they had no comment. Course not worth the price
Great coarse had a great time wii be back
Great coarse beautiful fairway green little beat up but , however I had a great round
Great southside course
I have played Crystal Lakes several times and enjoy the course. It looks great considering how much rain we've had this summer. The staff go over and beyond to make you feel at home. The club house is spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent. Thanks for a great day of golf.
great value
Played here on Aug. 15 with 2 friends and something about this course just fits my game. Tough course but fair.
