Good but slow play
We played Heron-Osprey. I am a fairly new golfer but my husband is a good player. I really hate playing Osprey (much too challenging for me - narrow and LOTS of water!) Between losing some many balls to the water hazards and keeping play within the maximum (par + 4 strokes) on Osprey I rarely get to putt - disappointing! Heron play moved quite well, but when we switched to Osprey there were 4 foursomes on the 1st (green, fairway, tee and we were the 4th group waiting). Needless to say, it was a VERY slow afternoon. Despite this very slow game yesterday, we enjoy playing Burnt Store because it can be challenging enough for my husband and still enjoyable for me (except Osprey!!!)

Hidden Gem
Three 9 hole courses to choose from- we played 9 holes on Heron and had a great experience. Moderate, short course, which only takes about 70 minutes to play 9 holes. The staff (especially the starters and bag drop) were helpful and very friendly. The course was in excellent condition. A hidden gem and will be back many times.

This course is always a pleasure to play. Excellent greens, friendly staff. Very good value for the money.
Great Little Course
This is always a fun little course to play, somewhat challenging with all the water. Played Pelican first and turned to Heron. Heron is the nicest of the three different nines and everyone wants to play it. There was a backup and slow play on the last three holes with multiple groups waiting. Other than than, fun clubhouse with good food and beverage choices. Lots of golfers in the 19th hole enjoying an after golf experience.
Nice place to play
Prices have risen, but BSM has stayed steady for the peak season. The staff are the best in the area and we are grateful to play enjoyable rounds!

Fun Course in Great Shape
This was are first round at Burnt Store. The course we used to play when we visited Pine Island is closed because of hurricane damage. The Burnt Store course is in great shape especially considering that Hurricane Ian came through just 3 months ago. The starter was extremely helpful and welcoming. There were more than enough challenges to make this a fun round of golf (including a gator on one green!!). We enjoyed good food in the cafe after our round — with a super helpful wait staff. We have already made a tee time to return next week.
