Horrible shape and unfriendly staff.
If you enjoy hitting into fairways that are mostly weeds; if you enjoy sand traps that are more like dried up lake basins with clumps of weeds growing here or there; if you enjoy putting on greens that are more brown and tan; or putting over dried tire tracks, then this might be the course for you. But you might have a problem with the staff who was not very friendly or helpful. We also had to play the back 9 twice because the front 9 had been closed for the past two weeks and the staff had no idea when it would be open again. We've played almost 50 different courses and have never had to play the same side twice. Hopefully this will save someone from the same disappointment that we experienced.
Monday golf group
I read some of the reviews and back in 2013 the course apparently was in a lot better condition then we found it today. In all fairness, the front nine was closed, they were aerating the greens. We played the back nine twice. It was in terrible condition, the fairways had a limited amount of grass and some of that was weeds. The greens were completely shot, although I did putt well on them. Even at a reduced rate of $18, that was plenty. There were six of us and we all felt the same about the condition. I was told to scratch it of our list. It needs a lot of work, and I do not see the money there to accomplish that.
The course seemed a bit rough when we played it but in fairness it has been a very dry spring and most of the winter grasses are dying off now in early April. Many large oak trees contributed to leaf strewn greens and debris laying on the surfaces. Fairways were pretty sparse for grass with too many bare lies. Ladies tee boxes were good for the shorter hitters and made the course quite playable. Plenty of sand but the traps were not in good shape. A thin layer of sand on top of a clay like base made sand shots very unpredictable. Tee boxes in generally poor condition, dry and hard. The couse winds through a subdivision and has several holes that are a little tight with trees or houses on one or both sides. Back 9 is more open then the front 9. Only bathroom facilities are the main clubhouse (older facility) but you do come back to it on the 4th and 9th holes. Gas golf carts are a plus. Priced OK when purchased on Golf Now. Course is fairly flat and a fair test but would benefit greatly from some rain and a little TLC. Staff is cordial and they seem like they are trying to improve the course but they have a ways to go yet. As a first time player better hole diagrams would be helpful, I really didnt pick the right line every time and without the aid of GPS I found myself in some lateral waste bunkers after I thought I had hit a pretty good tee shot.
love those `dunes`
the setup is good, the greens are nice.I especially love thedunes side..very challenging.. I Will Be Back to this One..kudos to the course
Nice challenging course for the money!
I enjoyed the layout - very challenging! Course in fair condition!
The course has a nice layout although some fairways are a little tight with houses lining the way. The greens are ok, fairly fast and relatively smooth. The sand traps are good but a lot of the waste traps need to be dressed better. Overall, the course seems to get a little better each year.
Course in good shape, although a couple of greens had a few thin spots. Course not busy.
New ownership four years ago has put lot of effort into restoring course. A couple of greens had a few thin spots, but otherwise they were in good shape for mid-January, and putted true. Fairways in good shape. Not a lot of places to get into trouble unless you are spraying shots. I liked the idea of waste areas on the back nine. Lady in clubhouse was proshop attendant and waitress, but quite chatty and friendly.
good layout, fair to women and 3 tees for the men to choose from.
It's a good course in excellent condition and you will use every club in your bag, great staff and very fairly priced. If you haven't played this course since 12/01/2012 you haven't played it, it's in perfect condition.
Great time. Great course flow. Good condition. Enjoyed playing.
You will enjoy this course. Challenging and in good condition.
real value for money
very interesting course
not extremely difficult, but not too easy either
makes you think about which club to use
excellent value for money
Enjoy the two different layouts (front from back).
The course tries to maintain and improve it's condition.
Certainly under played. Had the course all to ourselves when we played.
Although the course was green due to winter rye, it is in need of attention. Erratic layout makes the flow seem sporadic. Unless there is no other place to play, would not go back, even at Golf Now rates.
course was closed for several years but is coming along
Had the place pretty much to ourselves, the greens were fast and true but they were evened out with sand, this didn't look pretty but made an even putting surface that was better than holes and bumps. the front 9 and some tremendous old oak trees with draping moss. there were houses on the course but not too close. the back nine was the best, no houses, links style but no high grass, pretty waste bunkers. no lost balls during round, this course is coming along after being closed for several years, it is nice to have it back. pretty easy course, gives women a big break. great for couples
hard to do the above when you can not get the slide buttons to work
there were 3 of us, and we really had a great time.. The only problem, was when we went to the club house for a bathroom break, the clubhouse was closed and could not find any other facilities at all. The course seems to be in good shape, a little work needed in the fairways, but they had just seeded as well.
Don't waste your time or money.........BBBAAADDD
Stay away from this one. This has to be one of the worst courses I have ever played and I only played nine holes and asked for my money back, which was a first for us.Course was in very poor shape-greens-tees-fairways-bunkers,we will NEVER go back to this one and I mean NEVER
This course has a variaty of holes.
The holes are very different dog legs right, dog legs left, some have water others have trees and some very open.
Similar to Wedgefield GC, Indian Lake Estates G&CC, & Swiss Fairways GC
Typical Florida course in subdivision. Tight & tough tree lined course. Very rough around edges. Not manicured at all. Fairways/tee boxes sparse. Roughs are rough. Greens decent speed though. Will not play again when in area. Great Hot Deal price.
