Sherman Hills Golf Club

Played on a hot deal on Friday mid morning. Course is in pretty good condition. Some areas on a few greens have issues, but the holes were placed away from the problem areas. Greens rolled well, but lots of areas where players don't fix their ball marks. Pace was bad. Played in 4:30 and waited on every shot. No starter or Ranger.

It's always worth the drive to Sherman Hills from the Port Richey area as the course is always in fine condition and never too crowded......The staff is always friendly and helpful.....even allowed us to play before our tee time.......Looking forward to returning there again sometime soon......

Great staff,course always in good shape,front 9 hilly back 9 flat more trees,undulating greens makes you read putts,great track for all.

We really enjoyed playing here on our visit to the area. We will be sure to play this course on our next visit to this area. Fun course.

fairways hardpan, rough needs a haircut greens good but hard to keep approach shots on green

Overall this is a great course in excellent conditions considering the drought. A few patches areas on greens and fairways but overall very good. Firm and fast fairways that are pretty generous with a few holes that tighten up past the 150 marker. Great layout and enough challenge to be interesting. Pretty open off the tee on the front, the back is tighter. The green complexes are really challenging. Lots of very sloped greens that can be hard to hold if you can't control distance and spin, tight fringe grass makes the big uphill chips hard to control. A challenge for sure. The only thing holding this course back from being 5 stars is the green complexes, for the average player they are going to be more difficult and frustrating than fun. I would definitely play here again when I'm in the area.

This course has a fun layout with lots of scoring opportunities. Tee boxes offer lots of variety for different skill levels. True challenge of this course are the greens. They have lots of slope, and some difficult hole locations. Greens usually run little slower to help make it more manageable, but when you catch a day with fast greens, good luck!

The course was really good. Greens almost perfect. Condition of the course I give it a 90 %

I wish the food menu was bigger. No salads more just hamburgers etc. all in all fun place to play.

First, the experience in the pro shop was warm and welcoming. It was our first trip to this track, and the gentleman in the pro shop couldn't have been friendlier. Offered us the right pointers for our first trip and was effieicient.

Next, the range. For such a budget round, to have a grass range was awesome. Granted the marked off section had already seen its fair use and probably should have been adjusted, thats basically a nit pick as it still played fine for our warmup.

Now for the course. Majority of fairways were very well kept with plenty of dense turf to hit off. The rough was, well, rough. Wasn't overgrown but certainly more weeds than turf in lots of areas. Given just how big the fairways are on most holes, if you dont wanna be in real trouble, keep it in play. Now the real highlight was the greens. They weren't super fast which given just how undulating they could be, probably for the best. They were the right kind of tricky. Played very fair and very fun for the challenge they offered. We like playing Brooksville CC for the few scenic holes on the back 9, but this place gets plenty close while having greens that are light years in better shape. We will certainly be back to take this course on again.

Pace of play actually ran fine for us. We did get out a little earlier than most, but even with a 15 minute delay due to other groups needing to wait on thick fog to break some, we actually played 18 in about 3.5 hours or so. And do yourself a favor, get the full size Cuban at the turn and split it with a buddy. Thank me later

Sherman Hills is one of the best values in the Bay Area. The course is always in good condition and the staff is friendly.

Played here many times. Unfortunately the trend lately has been to sell tee times when there are planned events that would take you 5+ hrs to finish a round. The first tee had 8 carts, with a foursome on the fairway and a foursome on the green…you do the math. Instead of money grabbing they need to block off tee times that they know will not adhere to basic pace of play guidelines. Also, the course is full of weeds and the grass isn’t cut. Sherman is usually good about this, so I will give them a pass on that. However you can’t have poor conditions AND take peoples money.

Staff was great, very welcoming/friendly. The tee boxes were good, fairways good, greens pretty good, and layout there is great. Worth the drive from tampa.

Overall, the course is in real good shape from Tee to Green
