Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club
About
Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club is a Scottish links-style layout that is routed through sparkling lakes and carefully preserved conservation areas. The challenging layout features narrow tree-lined fairways and water hazards on all 18 holes. The front nine is short and tight, which contrasts nicely with the longer and more open back nine. Overall though, the golf course is not particularly long by modern standards. It is a shot-maker's course, requiring both accuracy and skilled iron play. The course has a challenging finishing hole that sums up the best elements of the course. This par-4 is a sharp dogleg right with a slew of bunkers and a pond to reckon with. The hole borders a nature preserve, making it the prettiest and most challenging hole on the course.

In Perfect condition
By far the best condition course I've played in Florida in 2 years
Hats off to the grounds crew especially with the drought Florida has had.
Very good greens. Fast and firm.
Great conditions for drought conditions.
Very crowded on the back nine. 4 groups on the 10th tee.
Ponds were very low but fairways and greens were good.
Enjoy playing here. Thanks.
Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club
Weather was chilly and windy the day we played so really didn't play all that well. That being said, greens ran true and fast, sand was good, fairways actually had GREEN grass. Lots of water and if you spray the ball, you will need an excess of balls. Overall, great course for the conditions currently in Florida where every other course is dry, dry, dry. Will be back on a warmer and less windy day.
Great conditions, course unfriendly staff, and members
It’s a shame because they keep the course so nice. The greens are so fast and true. The greens were probably running at least 11 on the stomp meter. The layout is decent with some really nice holes overall mediocre but conditions make up for it. Now the downside pulled up to the first tee there’s just a single car with a man sitting in it looking at his phone. I wasn’t sure if he was the starter or not so I parked about 6 feet away from him, making it noticeable in case he was.. I sat there for at least three minutes and he never acknowledged me once. I finally said hey buddy, are you the starter? Yes he answered and went quiet for a moment. Abruptly said what’s your teetime.? meanwhile there’s nobody else on the tea but me and I was a little early for my teatime. He said you gotta wait because there’s other groups ahead of you and five minutes later two foursome one group of eight celebrating a birthday party pulled up.. he was gonna let them go first and they said no no he’s by himself. Let him go so he did. No information about the course. Never asked if I played here before it made me feel as I was a nuisance to him as it’s his job to take care of the golfers but instead, he’d rather ignore me and be on his phone before I had to say something first after three minutes. On top of that, the members all look at you like you don’t belong and are very snobby and unfriendly. I’m a very comfortable person and very easy-going polite and always proper Golf etiquette. Just because I don’t have my own car and not a member.. It literally felt like they looked at you with you don’t belong here. I played here many times in the past and had similar, but it’s gotten so much worse. It’s the whole reason I don’t play this course often. If you want a great course with people that make you feel like crap before you even tee off good place to go. As long as you don’t mind negative vibes anytime you encounter remember or negative vibes right off rip from the starter. The guy who’s supposed to make you feel comfortable inform you of the course and wish you a good round. Very disappointing.
Best in tampa
I have played multiple courses this winter in Tampa. This is by far in the best condition whereas others are dried out this course had greener fairways. Ranger stopped to check on round and very friendly. Foursome in front of my twosome but pace ended up being just over 4 hours so very good for a 750am start time. Challenging with more water than other courses I have played in tampa.
Great time
Pro shop staff was very nice. Our starter, Chuck gave great advise for the course. Moved along nicely, played in 4:10. Greens were lightening fast, rolled true.
Crazy lay out
Beautiful course, green really fast finding the next hole is the challenge starting from hole 10 good luck figuring out where the next hole may be.Great course just hard to navigate. I would and will play it it again
Nice course. Short yardage. Emphasis on accuracy
Greens are fast and true. Good condition considering drought conditions in the area. Very friendly staff. Played with very nice people.
Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club
Great course. Very fast greens, good sand in traps, lots of water in play if you're a big hitter. Biggest plus was there was green grass in the fairways. Overall, great find in San Antonio, FL
Great shape
The course was outstanding. Tough course. Water, sand everywhere, but we had a great time. Price was right through Golfnow. The course wasn't very busy so pace of play was not an issue.
Bring an extra sleeve of balls and enjoy!

Course was a excellent find. Was looking for a club that I had never played and found this gem in San Antonio FL. Wasn't sure what to expect based on reviews I had read, but was pleasantly surprised. For a Florida course to have REAL grass in the fairways was a find. Water on almost every hole but unless you hit the ball a mile, most was not in play. Greens were VERY FAST.
There was a 5 person team in front of us and were only 2 people in our group. So we were unable to play the back 9holes. So we played the front nine again.
Very nice track.
VeryVery nice track, wide and open fairways means more balls stay in play. Fast large greens with mostly minor breaks I found. Will return.
