Summerfield Crossings Golf Club

The course has fallen off in the past few years, but now it seems as if someone has decided to give it a new breath of life. It still won't get back to its former years, so this is why I wouldn't recommend it for someone to play here, to me it is just not worth the price of admission, especially when I can go north or south 20 minutes and find more courses with a slightly better bang for your buck.

The course was in good shape, greens were not as fast as the practice green. 5 hours plus is wat too long a time to plAy. Foresome in front of us lacked golf etiquette looking for lost balls for much longer than the rules permit. I recommend playing real early or very late in day.

My 1st time there, played the front 9. Course was in great shape. Definitely a lil challenging to keep it in the fairway. Heavily wooded areas and plenty of water around the course. Only thing i didn't like was no ball cleaners at any tees after the 1st tee.

Probably the best conditioned course i've played on since my comeback after a 20-yr hiatus, about 5-6 rounds so far. They are starting a midweek 5:30pm shotgun league that I plan to join March 27th.

This is a nice course that I enjoy. I’ve played it a few times the greens are nice but there are a few spots that need some attention and it looks like they are trying to fix them, so overall it’s a good place to play!

The course was in good shape, the greens were slower that the putting green, fairways were pretty tight, not much rough

My wife and I played a scramble against her sister and my brother in law. It wasn't my best day... by my wife pulled us through and we won--barely.

Fun day... they have nice new golf carts and the greens were really fast. I'm sure we'll play there again. It's not far from a couple of nice waterfront restaurants... Circles in Apollo Beach and the Sunset Grill in Ruskin... both really cool

Great course! Very challenging. If you like fast greens you'll like this course. Some holes are tight and you may be better served going with an iron or hyprid than driver. Also, using a putter instead of chipping is suggested. You will pay for errant chip shots.

Difficult at this time of year to find a decent course with reasonable rate......this fit the bill.

Terrible booking. Two-somes scheduled behind four-somes and there was an old hag following us around while we played. Some people just going around picking up their balls and rushing people in front of them. If you actually enjoy playing golf then this isn’t the place for you. If you’re a hundred then sure feel free. Don’t recommend.

I enjoy playing this course however some same issues keep coming up. The sand traps are unplayable. They are hard packed, no loose sand and I’m not sure if they rake them daily. Poa annua is creeping into the greens. It grows at a different rate and creates clumps of grass higher than the green, awkward putting. Also fairways are getting a little thin in areas create very tight lies. Our foursome will probably take a drop outside the traps.

Our foursome had a blast playing Summerfield Crossing. The layout is interesting and it is in very good shape. New carts were great too.

The course was in good shape overall. Fairways and greens were good. However I was really disappointed in the sand traps. There was no more than 3/8” of loose sand before you hit the hard sand underneath. Also when the staff were he cutting the greens around edge the mower dug in and shaved the grass down to the sand level below. I remember 10th hole for example. I shot 79.

It had been 20 years since I played this course, It was much better than I remembered. the holes were not surrounded by houses. The holes that had houses on them were far enough away that it did not come into play. Played the Black tees on the front nine , moved to the Gold for the back nine. Front nine hit a lot of driving irons off the tees. 3rd hole hit Driver and 7 iron was able to cut corner & at least 100 yards off the hole. Fairways in great shape

greens were good. Played leaving the stick in the cup and our foursome holed @ 5 long putts.

Fairways & greens in excellent shape. Are tee time was at 1:07pm . 4 hr round. Great pace of play.. paid $31.00 dollars .

Enjoyed playing, it has it's challenging holes, and not so challenging,makes for a good balance. Course was in good shape, some, greens tough to read, but who am I
