Summerfield Crossings Golf Club
About
Summerfield Crossings Golf Club is a fun Scottish links style championship golf course designed by Ronald Garl. There are many moguls and palm trees that come into play throughout the course. Summerfield Crossings Golf Club has wide, gently rolling fairways, but do not underestimate the challenge. You must keep the ball on target thanks to pot bunkers, waste areas and small, undulating greens. The signature hole is No. 6, a 171-yard, par 3 that calls for a carry over water to a small peninsula green. Summerfield Crossings Golf Club has a wide, gently rolling fairways.

Pretty good
The course is in decent shape considering all the rain we’ve had this summer. The greens need some work but love the course.
Summerfield Crossings GC
The course layout is inviting. It good for golfers of all handicaps. I will play this course again.
Had a good time
The weather had made the greens dead in some areas but the course overall was in good shape. Played with three strangers but the management made me feel welcome. Had a good time.
Wet Wet and Wet
The front nine was closed due to it very wet only had 9 hole open and it was very wet should not have been open at all. Only played the back nine once to wet to go around it again. Greens were in bad shape to maybe from all the rain. Never seen them this bad.
Front 9 Closed
Played back 9 twice, cart path only. No biggie, it’s Florida and really wet this summer. Was told the front 9 hasn’t been open for a week but no warnings on GolfNow. There is a difference between wet and unplayable. Today was unplayable. 30-40% of the entire back 9 was either under water, standing water, or that squeaky mush of water/soil/grass. At one point I couldn’t find a dry spot within 30 yards of my tee shot and ended up just placing it in the rough. Keeping the back 9 open and charging full rate is just wrong. Love this course when playable, but for now it’s just too wet and letting us golfers continue to play on it is just making course worse.
Great Day, Great Round, Until...
The course was in very good shape, the greens are improving and filling in nicely. Some fairway bunkers need some love (13 in particular). Overall Summerfield is a fun place to play with an interesting and challenging layout. Unfortunately we were rained out after 11 holes. Recommend playing as early as possible to avoid the Florida afternoon rains we see in the summer.
On the way to higher Ratings
The course is challenging a in good shape. The greens rolled nicely but, were very thin is some places. This is a great value and worth playing regularly.
Good bang for the bucks.
The course was in good shape considering the greens were punched 5-6 weeks ago; still a little slower than usual but ok. The staff were great as usual. I had a head cover fall off and told the Ranger when she passed by and she had it back to me in 15 minutes. All in all a good day.
Great for all levels
Course is simple yet fun. Great course for beginner/intermediate golfers to have a fun day without dealing with constant frustration, yet challenging enough to entertain your more advanced golfers as well. Wide open and clean fairways and surroundings keep your balll in play and easy to find most often. Nice to not spend time looking through trees or deep brush for your balls (spoken like a true intermediate level golfer). Really enjoyed the design of a few of their par 3s, especially the island green Greens and fairways were in good shape. I liked the green layouts for the most part. Not to much elevation off the greens so decently forgiving if you get in trouble or making the approach shot. Decent amount of water around but not too much of it in direct play you have to deal with. A few cons is the traps were in crummy conditions really. Especially the shallow middle of the hole ones. Tee boxes seemed could’ve been a little more level and smooth and “tee colors” actually distinguishable and match the legends. Other then that it will certainly be a go to spot for a nice relaxing game of golf.
Nice Course
I like this course. The staff is friendly, got a cooler full of beer at the bar to take out on the course. This was nice because the weather is so hot this time of year.
Enjoyed
Enjoyed playing this course. for being 71 The fairways were in good shape and the greens were fairly good. This course is some what challenging and fun to play. Will be back to play.
Lost Greens..
I want to play this course when the greens recover. The layout is great. Sufficiently challenging. Greens are just losing the battle with the heat. Although we have had a lot of rain.
Barbara & Bruce Summerfield
My wife and I live several miles from the golf course and thought it would be fun to play the course with friends again. We have not played the course in a couple years. The last time we played the course it was in great shape. Well a couple of years have moved the course from great to poor. Our friends stopped playing after nine do to the course condition and the pace of play. My wife and I continuing playing the back nine but the course condition was not much better and the pace of play did not get any better. Pace of play was due to three young men who could not hit the golf ball more than 20 yards at a time which made pace of play very hard to deal with. No rangers every came out to check on the pace of play, guess it was too hot for the ranger to drive the course, 94 degrees. After our round the staff person in the pro shop was very helpful when I mention our friends stopped playing do to the condition and pace of play. He could not get us a rain check for their unused nine do to it was prepaid on GolfNow. I would not recommend playing Summerfield Crossing golf course.
Good Value ... Needs attention
I received a sweet "Hot deal" to play the course. The track is always a nice challenge and never over priced. My only complaint is unraked bunkers and poor quality sand along with 50% containing major standing water. I get it with the rain and all but other courses are bunker clear. Put two teenagers out there with squeegies.and rakes and tell them to start at number 1.
Record rain has severely impacted the greens. As the weather improves, so do the greens. 12+" of rain in 2 weeks will do that.
