Needed little more time for the greens
The greens have improved, but they may require a couple of months since it’s winter.
Overall the course is in good shape worth driving an hour.
Found a New Course
Wonderful course and more than I bargained for. Very hilly course and unexpected in Southwest Atlanta. Loved this course from the white tees at 6200 yards. but it offers black tees at all you want. Thinking of moving to area and this will be one for me to revisit. Highly recommend it.
Great course!
Fantastic layout, with a great blend of challenging and forgiving holes! My foursome raves about it all day and we look forward to returning soon!
What happened?
I’ve played this course many times throughout the last 20 years or so and think it’s the roughest shape I’ve ever seen it. Albeit I don’t play it every week so things can be good weeks and bad but the way the course was today is a far cry from where it used to be.. Snagged a golfnow hotdeal rate at 35 bucks a head and think after we played that was too much. If the course was in decent shape it would’ve been ok to pay that at 1 pm on a Saturday. For starters the tee box’s aren’t level. Most of them We’re overseeded, uncut and unlevel. It was hard to find a level lie with any kind of grass. Quite a few of the holes were also in need of a severe manicure. The first cut was too long and needing to be mowed. In many places there leaves just off the fairway and a couple of balls were lost in the leaves.. quite a few of the greens were down to the dirt underneath. This course used to be one of the bright spots on the south side of Atlanta that wasn’t a private club. The layout is a lot of fun but I hope they get the maintenance under control yet again..
black Friday
Had a great time. We play Coweta golf courses on a regular rotation. The staff as always is great. The track is challenging . BUT the greens where in VERY VERY poor conditions this week. Been there many times and will return.
Over grown, Over rated, Over charging
Fairway and first cut areas are over grown, making finding a ball in the fairway or first cut difficult. Most greens have large bald spots. All the tee boxes are overgrown with a lot of sand on the surface. Concrete cart paths are uneven and broken in many places. The condition of the cart paths make the ride very uncomfortable and on some of the steep hills dangerous. The current ownership is skimping on many course maintenance standards and it is obvious. Coweta Club is OVERCHARGING for the current course conditions. NOT WORTH THE $$$$$ unless you pay less than $30 for 18 holes. COWETA CLUB OWNERS NEED TO STEP UP and bring this course back to it's former glory. Arbor Springs was a beautiful and challenging course when it was properly maintained; now it is falling into NEGLECT and DISREPAIR.
Shaggy
This course could be really nice if it was maintained better. Several tee boxes had new grass, but not in good shape. A few of the greens had rough/bare spots. The biggest problem was the fairways and first cut needed mowed. Pretty bad when you can't find a ball in the fairway or first cut because the grass needs cut and/or leaves blown away.
This course could be great
The layout of this. course is outstanding but the grass in the 1st. 2nd and on some holes. the fairway is to long causing many lost balls and add the leaves and it takes away from the enjoyment of a great course
Terrible
Got a golf now tee time. Was paired with a 2nd, but was charged an extra 10 bucks for a separate cart during covid. Course was in awful conditions. Will not be returning
Tough Course!
I'm a beginner and this course was very challenging. The receptionist was great! Please give her 5 stars. I will come back to play, when I get better.
Great layout
Greens are below average, fairways good, Tee boxes sad. We enjoyed the day as the weather was great though.
I can hit a driver off dirt, but can’t stand how unlevel the tee boxes are. Most were sloping down and the ball below my feet. Times are tough, but felt it was over priced for the conditions. I will give it another chance once the Bent grass has a chance to grow in during the cooler weather.
So much potential..
First off, i played at Coweta Club on a GolfNow Hot deal, so i ended up only paying about $4 out of pocket (after using a $10 credit i had been given) For what i paid, its hard to complain.. but im about to do just that.
Cons:
No Marshall/Starter
Lack of signage
Holes have alot of driving between them, so walking would be brutal
Poor grounds Maintenance (fairways abnormally "skinny", with the 1st cut rough about 2.5-3in tall, so basically lazy grass cutting has narrowed the holes, considerably, and unnecessarily)
Poor condition of tee boxes and greens (many bald spots, and extremely tall grass, so pretty awful to putt on)
Some woman was blocking the 18th fairway/green area, either practicing or wandering around aimlessly.. i waited 15 minutes, then someone from the course rode by, and when i questioned what was she doing, the guy said "i dunno", without stopping, and laughed as he drove away. I finally just picked up my ball and left
Pros:
The course, if cared for, would be a lot of fun to play.. too bad its not.
Clubhouse was very nice, though the golf shop was a little small
Hole designs are fun, a couple drivable par 4's, and some pretty long par 3's, along with significant elevation changes on many holes
Very nice surrounding neighborhood, and the nice houses are protected somewhat by the trees
The tall grass on the greens are a sign of healing, however, they couldve easily been rolled to make them faster. It won't help the many dead spots, but it would be a start
Pace was great, until the 18th
Don't waste alot of money playing here, i won't return until the conditions improve
Coweta with the team
we had 4 teams of 3 and it was great! After the rain on Saturday we expected soggy fairways but the course drained very well! the greens were in good shape. Looking forward to the next time!!
