Tough, Well-Kept Course
Coweta club is always in great condition and at a great price. The greens are incredibly small but kept really nice. Very tough course (almost links style), so don’t miss the fairway! Hit em straight!
Friday night rains, understandably made it cart path only, which made it more difficult to play. The natural terrain makes this a very interesting course. Cart paths need some tender loving care as they are in pretty bad shape.
This is a challenging course to play. Looking forward to returning to this hidden gem
Very good lay out
Not an issue but could be little more accommodating for the elderly [ need to be able to get a closer to tee box and greens) steep Inclines, but I get it. I love the course and play again soon.
Difficult but fun round
Overall an excellent value through Golfnow! Perfect weather offset somewhat marginal conditions. Very difficult course; small greens and undulated fairways and lies. Will definitely return using hot deal tee time!!
Nice layout
Beautiful course! Not too long. Many hills & fair. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were not perfect, but above average. Tee box grass a bit long, at least the white tees. Will play again.
1st Round at Coweta Club
Having recently moved into the Arbor Springs subdivision, I had been anxiously awaiting the first chance to play the course that is actually outside the front door. .
After reading some mixed reviews about the course I am happy to say that I was very pleased with the experience. The elevation changes and carry to elevated greens proved to be a fair but challenging round. The dormant conditions with playing in November provided some added difficulties, with leaves and thin Bermuda around the greens. The tee box grass was understandably long due to over seeding, but the greens were in very good condition for November.
The variety of holes and the course layout is very unique, and with the Deer rut the wildlife was most evident and entertaining!
Looking forward to the spring and summer rounds at the Coweta Club.
Beautiful & Challenging
I booked a last minute tee time before flying back home after playing at RTJ Grand National over the weekend. What a treat! This course is not only challenging, but the constant elevation change is beautiful. 1 moment your teeing off overlooking pure beauty. The next your wondering how your going to get the ball to hold the green due to the drastic uphill approach. I played alone & caught up to a group of members at the turn. They kindly offered advice for the tee shot on 10 and didn’t hesitate to let me play through. The gentleman in the Pro Shop was beyond friendly & helpful as well. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the Atlanta area.
Could Be Great
This course was obviously built to be great but has diminished over the years. The roughest part is the cart path and tee boxes which don’t bother me too much.
I appreciate the attention to the greens, fairways, 2nd and 3rd cuts and sandboxes. The course has a beautiful layout and yardage markers.
The cost is what prevents me from going more regularly. I wish the HotDeals offered a better variety of tee times like 9:00 am and 1:00 pm.
Great shape!
Arbor Springs is in great shape right now. Slot of credit has to go to the grounds crew. This is an interesting course (lots of hills) so you can end up with lies above and below your feet if you don't pay attention to where your hitting. Should be real good all fall
Coweta is Back
The course was in excellent shape. We saw 3 other golfers the entire time. The African American Guy at the front desk greeted me by name and is ALWAYS upbeat, professional and accommodating. Cant say the same for staff in the past. The greens were rolling true and great( don't give up the hole on what appear to be breaking putts) Cant wait to play there again especially when the hot deal is right.
Not good
The only good things about this course are the staff, and the price. The layout is bad, greens are awful. Fairways and tee boxes are also awful. The only reason to come play here is if you don’t want to spend any money. It’s funny that the description uses the word pristine. Lol
Excellent
I had excellent time playing this course.
The course was maintained very good.
It was quite sometimes since
I played here last and lost few balls, and once you hit in rough, hard to locate the ball.
You got to be on fairways.
Narrow, fun, fair
Picked up on golf now last minute —
Foggy start, nice layout, a bit narrow and small greens — had rained quite a hit but course was in good shape —-
Nice course bumpy ride
A challenging course layout with steep elevation changes requires a strategic approach to this Newnan course.
Tee boxes have become hard and sandy with patchy grass. Fairways are in good condition except for a few bare areas. The bermuda rough is high and the native areas are overgrown with tall weeds.
Bermuda greens are in Excellent condition; considering the severe drought in the area. Bermuda with little undulation are a challenge to read the grain, but a joy to putt. Well defined chipping areas are in very good condition and the bunkers are well maintained.
The steep cement sectioned cart path is very broken up. It is extremely bumpy and rough on your back. The cart path definitely needs to be fixed immediately. The cart path has been like this way too long.
The course setting is beautiful and fun to play. bring a few extra balls for those stray shots. I will return to Coweta Club.
Turn for the worse
Course is in rough shape from tee to green, fairly recent aerating & sanding without alert. Nice to see a group of deer thoughp
Nice layout
This is a nice, challenging course. Traps and pin placement are shrewd, I found myself landing in more traps than usual. Third round here, and it’s WIDE open, nobody out there at 930 on a sunday morning, got a full round in in 2 1/2 hours, only had to play through two twosomes. I really liked this course. Its in a county with draconian liquor laws, so no drink on the turn. Nice carts and good neighborhood in which to play. I’ll be back, a round or two away from shooting low 80’s (shot an 87 from the member tees).
