Governor's Towne Club

The Governor’s Towne Club was in great shape and getting better. Overall layout is excellent with challenging holes and some forgiving spots. A great pace and setting for all levels of golf.

I enjoyed the layout and atmosphere of the course and club house. True rolling greens were a joy to experience. I’d love to come back and play this course again.

Members were a-holes, but the staff and course were magnificent. To expand, we had to wait on every shot for the 4some in front of us, no problem as expected on a beautiful Sunday morning. A 2 some behind us tried to skip.hole and jump in front of us. When we arrived at the 4th hole they were waiting on the tee box just as would have been. When we asked what they were doing they said they were members too long to wait. Well we politely asked them to continue to wait.

Great staff. Pace was very slow. Fairways could be better. Collars and areas around some greens burnt out. A few tee boxes badly chewed up. Place is a great layout - very fun finishing holes. When in shape I gladly pay $95-$100 green fee. Conditions aren’t worth that much right now. Hope to see course round in to better form as we get deeper in to summer months.

The course is rolling hills with severe elevation changes. It is challenging but not overly difficult depending upon the tee boxes and weather conditions. Today was warm, dry with some winds. blue tees at 6400 yards was good enough. People in clubhouse and club drop were very accomodating and pointed us in the right direction. Greens were true and smooth and held most approach shots with some reasonable release. Fairways were mowed but sporadic in spots. Some areas of rough are dirt especially Near cart paths. A lot of grow-in is still expected and the course is still coming out of winter dormancy. I'm a genius for writing this review. Bunkers were hard pan and hadn't been groomed in several days...When they're in this condition, it seems players don't bother either btw. L Seemed as if maintenance was being performed on every back nine hole and those guys...well, they're guys. Not a lot of consideration in the players. Anyway, overall good experience. Some average conditions but mostly the coirse is good. Go play it.

I played on Friday and was not impressed. The fairways were cut to close and everywhere felt like you were hitting off of hard pan. The bunkers had no sand. When you pay $100 to play a course youd expect it to be in better shape than this. Other than that, the greens were in good shape and the tee boxes as well. I won't be playing there anytime soon.
