Very good rural course
Course has an excellent layout with plenty of variety with hole design. condition is good. Most greens are excellent with just a couple with stressed areas. Scenic course.
Best Value west of STL
I always enjoy playing Wolf Hollow. It's a challenging course from the right tees with a lot of interesting holes. One of the best values on the MO side of the river if you're willing to drive a few extra minutes. Definitely plan to continue playing here.
Good condition, frustrating layout
Great looking course for the money. Greens, fairways etc are kept in good shape. Only negative was there a many blind tee shots where you’re teeing off to fairways you can’t see. Unless you play the course often, it would be very challenging to know where to play to and losing balls on seemly good tee shots was a problem for me.
Like the Rolling Hills a change from just the flat Fairways and flat greens, both make for challenging plays with your head
Probably the best course I've played this year for the amount of money also like how they have a layout out of each hole on the cart with yardage which I think helps a great deal also I had spotters on the fairways which I've never seen on public courses before bonus!
Nice place.
Course in great shape, enjoyed the layout. You should hit irons off several tees. Greens a bit tricky to read.
Always a challenge
If you have not played at Wolf hollow before, be prepared for some change of elevation. Many of the holes have quite drastic elevation changes and if they don't, some of the greens do! The staff constantly keeps the pin locations in new and challenging positions. I consider it an excellent value, as the course conditions are usually quite good although the tee boxes have been a little tired lately. The clubhouse has the area's BEST condiment bar for your burgers and hotdogs. I know that sounds goofy, but having sriracha sauce with jalapenos and relish and spicy mustard on a brat is amazing. Friendly staff, and usually pretty good pace of play. This is my favorite golf course in the St Louis area.
Great, Challenging Course
Wonderful course, very challenging. Played on 4th of July so it was packed but worth every penny. Would play again
best value
This course is challenging but fun. They generally maintain it quite well, except that the tee boxes are a little on the rough side this year. They USED to have a bunker problem; we would joke among ourselves that we should pay them in sand instead of money for our tee times. But this doesn't seem to be an issue any more.
My own personal preference would be to take some of the slope out of a few greens (1, 5, and 16) but overall It's a fun challenging course
Great place to play
The course was in great shape, greens were very smooth, fairways were mowed well and green. The cart paths could use a little work, but overall, the course is a great place to pay.
Great Course
Played this course with a few friends who really do not play golf at all, so it was very tough for them and slowed down the pace, regardless though still very fun. I also loved the fact that this course had a lot of elevation and some blind drives. I have been playing seriously for a month and throughout my life off and on and it was challenging at some holes, and others more straightforward. All in all a great course. The only negative I would say is that the rough was littered with white clover weeds so finding your ball if you hit it there is tough and sometimes took forever.
Wolf Hollow course
Wolf Hollow is always fun to play. The foursome I play in has a regular tee time and we are members of the golf package they offer. There are enough challenges on the course that make you appreciate a well placed tee shot and a second shot on the green.
Bunkers could use some work the sand / dirt / mud is no fun at all. Sand could use an upgrade but that is the only negative I have - best thing - avoid the bunkers.
Great day of golf
Course was in great shape considering it is early in the season. Cart path only because of heavy rains earlier in the week, so it was a workout walking the hills.
Staff extremely friendly.
Pace of play was fine.
There’s golf in Them Thar Hills
My title says it all and I apologize to Mark Twain for the obvious plagiarism. We played on a perfect April day. The course is in amazing condition for early spring. The traps need work but let’s face it, in the Midwest nearly every trap needs work. We are seniors and even though we used a cart this course challenged us.. The greens are well guarded and the all are up/down and a good distance from the cart path. The cart rule on the day we played was 90 degrees. I highly recommend this course but wear your most comfortable golf shoes, and stay hydrated. My hubs and I play a lot of golf. We always play 18 but this course taxed us and we played the last five holes as a two person scramble! We shot 3 over on those five holes, lol. Have fun, people, you’ll be happy you played Wolf Hollow.
4/6/2019
Great course and have been playing out there for years. The four of us purchase the golf package which is a great deal.
One concern I have is the amount of tournaments scheduled on Saturdays. After working all week the 4 of us look forward to playing on Saturday morning. The least Wolf Hollow could do is have the tournaments late Saturday instead of Saturday morning. Had to schedule a different course for Saturday 4/13.
Best Value Course in STL
This is a great value course that can be challenging to any golfer. Greens can be very fast when they are cut low. Staff is always friendly to work with and the pro shop has a good selection. For the price it's one of the best public courses out there. Come check it out - its worth the drive!
Great course on a cold day
Course is well maintained. Hidden gem in Franklin County. First time here and I thought it was challenging but fair. Staff and GM very friendly and accommodating
Thank you for your review. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Wolf Hollow Golf Club. Our team will also plan to install better ways to guide our golfer through our golf course. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
