Shoal Creek Golf Course

Nice course, great condition. Good pace of play. Could be a little better price .

Normally course cost $65.00 to play this course which is more than I usually like to pay to play golf. I tee'd of at 4pm and paid 35. Excellent value! This is one of kc's premier courses. Very nice conditions. Quite difficult.

Mostly short except for the monster Par 5s on the front nine; challenging smaller holes but they are laced with danger with tons of water hazards that are in most cases just creeks. A little more costly than some of the comparable courses in the K.C. area...

Greens rolled decent and quicker than most KC area courses. A Marshall would help pace but still played in 3 hours. Beautiful hole layouts and definitely worth playing!

Course was on very good shape considering how much rain had fallen.

My receipt was already printed when I got there so check in was record fast. Also the young man gave us some free range balls. It was hot playing in the afternoon but that also made for a quick round with no waiting all afternoon. Concession prices were lower than some other course I've been to. We'll definitely be back.

I played this course a month ago and it was a little dicey. I was so pleasantly surprised when I gave it another shot. Fairways, greens and bunkers were in phenomenal shape. Highly recommend giving it another shot.

Played late afternoon at a great rate. Would've given it 5 stars for condition but sod replacement on edges of greens required changing your lie, but glad that's being attended too. Bunker sand played well as well as fairways and greens and looked as though patrons repaired divots! Thought a dog walker on 15 picked up my ball WOW! Really nice place to play, enjoyed it and recommend it!

Looks like the rain, some sod, and some work by the grounds crew has really paid off for Shoal Creek! I'll admit, like others have mentioned in some reviews, I played here about a month ago and it was looking a little rough in places. But I just played yesterday and it has done a complete 180! Looks like they have put in some new sod around the greens, and it's already taken hold and is now back to the form that I would expect from KC best public track. Greens were smooth, fairways were full, and the tee boxes are great. Overall, it's in great shape. Still the best public course in KC if you ask me. Nice work by the grounds crew to get it back into top shape. Will be back soon.

Almost forgot to mention...I grabbed a burger for lunch after my round. I think it's the best burger I've had at a golf course!

I have played Shoal Creek for several years. The course condition was way below the standard that has netted this course many accolades. They have lost most of the collars and it appears that the replacement sod may be dead as well. The greens were not smooth or true. It is hard to believe that in one year this course could look so much different. I do hope that finances are not an issue and that this course can return to its previously high standards.

What happened to this place? Used to be one of the best kept courses in Kansas City but not anymore. The fringes are burnt out and because of that they have way oversaturated the greens. They are like walking on mud. I wouldn't play this course again until they drastically lower the rates or improve conditions. Go to Tiffany or Ironhorse and enjoy greens that are worthy of their price point

This course was in great condition as always but I was especially impressed to see the greens in such good shape this early in the season.

I played Shoal Creek one time last year. It was in immaculate condition. This year, the condition was not nearly as good. On a number of holes, the fringe around the green was burnt up, and only dirt and fertilizer remained. Most of the greens were very rough, and did not roll true. The other issue was the pace of play. We saw no marshal on the course, and when we pulled up to the tee box for our 4:10pm tee time, we had 3 groups waiting to go off the box. We got out about 20 minutes late. I do like the course, but until I hear of some repair, I will choose to play elsewhere.

Course was not in best conditions but layout was nice. Greens were not in best shape and fairways a little thin.

There is a lot of sand still on the greens and surrounding fringe. The fairways are not green, yet either.

Course was recently aerated, so it greens weren't prime, but it's a nice track ... just ran out of daylight.

This was my first time at Shoal. It is a wonderful course. Once it greens up it will be beautiful. Maybe not quite as hard as Tiffany, but the theme of the course is constant throughout. I would play here again in a heart beat.
