Meadows Golf Club - The Meadows Course

This course is my favorite in Sarasota!! I love that it’s cheap, quality and it makes me like it more every time I come here!

Friendly and engaging staff. Course design and layout is good...though old, homes don't unduly encroach on experience. Greens complexes reflect good design even by current standards and routing is even enjoyable. Architecture is very relevant still.

Course is way overdue for major updating...tired, thin and failing turf grasses on fairways, some green and tee surrounds. Roughs are inconsistent and spotty...some of the ultra dwarf greens display traditional signs of stress and decline where challenged by inadequate airflow, too much shade and I suspect insufficient nutrients and/or poor root structures/organic matter and percolation. Time to redo was probably 5 to ten years ago. Course could benefit by deep core aerification and substantial top dressing at least. Bunkers appear adequate for now in termsof design and overall conditions. MCA and/or Benderson could benefit home values immensely by seriously upgrading relevance of this strategically located course/club which in the long term would restore some of this beautiful Meadows community's stature. Benchmark your operating and capital budgets by your nearby competition. You're losing your place in the marathon and it's a shame. Your residents and club staff deserve better...

Played The Meadows less than a month ago and liked it so much I couldn't wait to return. During this visit we were warmly greeted by Joe & Alex (carts), Dave (inside/register) and George (starter). Although it was mid-morning on a weekday the course was not crowded and we were sent out almost immediately upon arrival. Course was very wet as it had rained for several days in a row. Although the course was "cart path only", we finished in approx. 3.5 hours. Several greens did have a few repair areas but held incoming shots and rolled true. Overall conditions, despite the ground being soft, were quite good. Can again recommend this course and look forward to returning soon.

Some of the greens show signs of dying grass, black. Seen a few spots that have new sod on the greens so glad it is being addressed. Friendly staff, great layout, clubhouse/check in little rough.

Upon arrival was greeted by Jon (carts), Chris (inside) & Tim (carts), each of whom appreciated my business. Course is very nice layout and in excellent condition. Enjoyed the round and look forward to returning soon.

Fun course but the conditions just aren't there yet. Greens need a lot of work

First time playing this course for everyone in our foursome. I had played the Highland course many times in the past but never played the Meadows course as it was only open to members.The staff was welcoming, new carts are awesome and the course conditions were excellent for this time of year.

Was able to play Fri,Sun and Mon because of Golf Now Fairways and Tee Boxes in great condition. Greens were sandy and a little bunny. But had a great time all three days. How 82 ,85, and 84. I was delighted.

I can see they spent tons of time and money to bring it back to beautiful course!!! Thank you benderson company!!

This was the first time I have been able to get on the meadows as it is normally private, but the course conditions were wonderful. The pace of play was amazing with no snowbirds. I will definitely be back here again.

Would definitely go back. Going through some renovations but course has great potential. Carts are brand new with state of the art technology. Once they finish getting the course well seeded and groomed, this will be a gem.
