Very disappointing course
First time I had played this course. It was in terrible condition, and ridiculously short.
I expected after the revamp some 2 years ago that it would be a good experience.
Greens are nice.
They switched the layout and it’s much better. Greens and tee boxes are in good shape, fairways not so much. It’s a par three set up so fairways don’t really come into play for average golfer. One change they need to make is adding CORRECT yardage at the tee box. Yardage on cards is way off.
Awful
We bought tee times off of Golf Now.
9 holes, $30.00, for golf, cart and taxes it said in the reservation. When we checked in, we were charged for a cart or couldn't play.
Rude staff
Awful
I booked through Golf Now for $30.00 for golf, cart and taxes. At check in we were charged for a cart. I showed my reservation showing cart was included in the price and was told we still had to pay for a cart.
Great for beginners
Short course but allows you to work on par 3 approaches and chips. I am a beginner player in which this course was open and friendly to beginners.
Sad 30 bucks
City should be ashamed. Course in disarray. Maintenance terrible. Staff untrained.
Issue with Hot Deal…
I booked through Golf Pass to take advantage of an earned credit and a Hot Deal, 10:36 am, tee time. I paid in full online as usual. When I got to the course, was told I owed another $18.00! I had my e-receipt showing a zero balance paid in full. The golf pro manager, told me that this course does not offer Hot Deals even though my receipt showed the Gillispie Course and payment. He told me if I wanted to play I must leave my credit card and ID AS SECURITY ,
I did that and my round was ruined being treated as a liar by this “manager” seriously lacking in customer service skills.
Upon finishing the round, the very nice and professional lady at check in returned my property and I was not charged the extra $18.
Three other people showed up using HotDeals and suffered the same negative treatment.
Not ever going there again. 33-years as a policeman and this guy literally called me a thief!
Absolute rubbish!
Avoid this place at all costs! Zero customer service and the course is basically a goat pasture.
Great to practice your short game!
The course is undergoing major reconfiguration, so only 6 of the 9 holes were playable. However, to compensate, we were invited to play the six as many times as we wished that day. We played it 3 times.
It was terrific value for money, and very good short game practice. Katie, who runs the Gillespie course (as part of the Bobby Jones complex) was welcoming, helpful and all round nice! Thank you Katie.
