Great Value!
This golf course is in good shape. The greens are nice, a little slow but roll straight. Everyone was very nice. Pace of play is a little slow but should be expected this time of year. Great value!
Not as advertised
The website for Highland stated that the practice range was available for members and for visitors with a.same day paid green fee. Upon arrival and after fees were paid, “Sorry you can’t use the range members only …” When we looked out at the range from the pro shop, there was no one even using it.
There’s no chance I’d ever recommend this course to anyone.
Good value
The courses is good value. Fairways are in good condition, no real problem areas. Greens are well covered, but a bit slow for my liking. Greens needed cut a bit tighter and rolled. They were a little bumpy at times. Overall, though a good course for the money
Going downhill
Despite extensive “reconstruction” last year this course is not worth the money. The greens and tees on the front nine are poor and the fairways are thin. Several directional signs are missing. If I hadn’t know the course, I’m sure I would have gotten lost. It seems like they are not even trying to keep it up.
Highland Visit
It had been awhile since I played the Highlands. It is a bit difficult, little room for error, especially with the course so dry. Not many players on the course in the afternoon. The pro sho staff was very friendly as was the lady at the snack shop. The cart guys not so much. They were too busy for questions or even help with our questions. I paid $70 for a round of golf in 85’ degree weather and if I want to hit a few practice balls, I need to drive my cart 10 minutes away and hit into a net in the woods.
A Good Test of Golf from Any Tees
The Highlands requires good tee shots to avoid trees, water and sand. The course from tee to green is in good condition. The greens have improved dramatically from the poor putting conditions earlier this summer but they are still not great compared to other local public access courses. If the greens were better this would be a great course and a true test of ball striking ability. I still enjoy playing this course even if the greens aren't perfect. Pace was excellent at. 3 1/4 h for 18.(2-some). Great value thru GN.
Enjoyable facility
Friendly welcome at Cart Barn, in the Pro Shop and at the First Tee. There were a few holes which needed some greenkeeping attention but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the course.
