Makani Golf Club

For us this was the best course that we played on the big island. The pace was great for us. We didn’t have to wait on any holes for the people in front of us. I was impressed with how many couples played the course the day we played. It was nice to see so many women enjoying golf.

We had a great time playing this course. It was a relax atmosphere a fun course. We took the advice of the Starter and used our best ball on hole 17 it worked to perfection as we made the green on the first shot. So far one of our favorite courses.

Needs quite a bit of maintenance, water, grooming and upkeep. Management seems to have let conditions deteriorate.

Well worth the drive thru a giant dust cloud. Extremely fun and difficult course with very memorable holes. Conditioning is what you’d expect from a good Muni but the price reflects that. Would play here again.

Course was in rough condition. The greens were in good shape but painfully slow. Not worth the price compared to the other nice courses around.

Very sad conditions. Needs daily irrigation and some minimal maintenance. The hundred dollar golf fee is twice the locals rate. Course badly rundown wouldn’t have played this dried out course for the locals rate. No clubhouse facilities or cartbeverage sandwich service. Course was maybe once a good course as the Big Island Golf Club but is in shambles now.

A good course but a little over rated. We only got 13 holes and it started to rain. The office was a hut with little amenities, and there is nothing for food or drink except at the office. No off course amenities to wait out the rain, which did not end. No rain check.
