Makani Golf Club

Fairways a little rough and for the most part not green. A little torn up here and there I guess from boars or? Greens were good, not slow like many reported before me. Bunkers had new sand. Great pace, finished in 4 hours. Not a difficult course but with a nice layout.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings! The course is difficult, much different from the courses I’ve been playing in Florida. But, with such outstanding vistas, you tend to forget about how many strokes it’s taken for you to get the ball in the hole, once you find the greens!! Holes #17 and #18 are particularly interesting as you have to clear intimidating water hazards!! We’ll definitely be back to try our skills at conquering this beast! So much fun!!

Nice staff, nice layout, good condition. Signage directly players to the next hole could be improved. No GPS in carts and distance markers are scarce, so best to bring your own rangefinder. Enjoyable course.

Makani golf is a great course with beautiful views wherever you look, some challenging holes and above all a cool mountain breeze!

Kudos to all…from the starters to the grounds staff. Always enjoy connecting with Jim, Joel, Bernie and others who make us feel special to play there over many years. It’s a player friendly experience in all aspects.

Best time ever. Played like a mountain course in a tropical setting. Including wildlife. Bent grass greens. Shot my best score of the year. Golf shop is a hole in the wall. But staff is fantastic. Would play it again in a heartbeat.

Better to lay up and roll onto the green on some holes where the hole was near the front. The ball role was true.

Challenging, fun, gorgeous, and in beautiful condition. Worth the drive to enjoy

First off I made a tee time for 7:30 a single playing with 2 other players. While waiting for the group in front to tee off the driver of the 2some says to me hay your a single? I said ya he says well I don’t want you on my butt all day go ahead. I replied I’m your 3rd for 7:30 - he walks over to the practice putting area for awhile comes back and says I don’t 3Somes just go ahead. lol started my round with the slowest 3some imaginable I just waited my turn until they were on the green and started putting still I had to wait for second shot. This went on for like 6 holes each time I tried to be at the right place for a pass nope the kept looking the other way taking off on contact of third player. So finally I just drove in front wasting the hole as they were brain dead, but I did tell each one of them how they don’t have an ounce of golf etiquette in them so I ran on only to find nobody in site for at least 3 holes on the next tee two real golfers came up and asked me to join them we played out the rest of the round and ran some extra holes to make up for the two groups in front and back. The info Thought it was Me that all the golf courses are you willl play around here will be filled with rich Americans who live here acting like they own the course. And just don’t care and it’s making all other Hawaiians look to us badly they were not proud of looking the same…
