Misty Creek Country Club

If you love to golf in nature, this is the course for you. It kind of reminded us of a cross between a Hilton Head course and a course in Tennessee. It was a very peaceful course to play.

Nice course for intermediate player. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Fun course but would be better with cart gps. Too many doglegs and fairway hazards to rely on guess work.

First time playing Misty Crrek and we all loved it. It has a fantastic layout with a mix of holes, long short, tight open and dogleg. The condition and pace were great. We play all over the country and this is one of my favorites!

Course is on a wildlife preserve, so lots of flora and fauna going from hole to hole. We saw a bobcat, a family of raccoons, huge turtles, lots of birds, and of course, alligators. The course was not long but it was tight in several spots. Not many homes to hit on the course either. great fun!

I’ve played Misty Creek many times over the 12 Winters I’ve spent in Sarasota. It is a very challenging track. When I played it recently it was CPO on the entire back 9. Ugh!!! Not what a player above 70 years of age wants to experience. So call ahead before you book to see if carts will be allowed without restrictions. Also no discount for CPO. $95 is pretty steep especially when you can’t use the cart for more than half the course. But if carts are permitted everywhere then Misty Creek is a must play in the Sarasota/ Bradenton area.

A great design with unique holes. But recent rains had made the course soggy . Friendly staff.

The fairways were not pristine. In general, well worth playing, The brush is being thinned out, which was necessary. With a modest update to cart paths, tees and faiways, the course would be championship caliber.

Not sure where all the good reviews come from. In fairness it appeared they had gotten a lot of rain the night before so I'll give a pass on the grasses not being cut. The young man at bag drop said "I can load your bags for you"...I was thinking we'll that's kinda what I thought you were here for. He was polite enough but never gave us any direction on where we were heading since it was our first visit until I hunted him down and asked. Clubhouse people were friendly enough but again not a lot of direction. We got beer to take out on this $100+ course and our cooler was an empty 12 pack box with a plastic bag in it. The facilities them selves look very "tired" in need of some modernizing.....again $100+ course. Layout was ok, greens were fair but slow, again I'll give a pass because of the rain. The fairways had many areas where there was no or little grass and in all honesty many places you could not tell the difference between fairway and rough. Overall very disappointing for a $100+ a round course. I would have felt ripped off at $50. My opinion is you can do way better than to spend that much on this course.

One last thing, signage is lousy from where you enter to get into the place from road to course and on the course itself.

You’ll need to hit it straight on this course,, but it is really beautiful. Most of the course winds through live oak forest - surrounded by nature rather that’s houses. Conditions were excellent.

One of the best layouts in the region. No adjacent homes. Challenging, tree-lined holes.. Enjoy the deer that roam the course.

Maybe my expectations were high based on earlier reviews but I found the course to be just average. The layout is nice but not memorable. Every hole felt the same. The greens and traps are in good condition but the fairway, rough and tee boxes were below expectations, especially considering the price.

We had a 9:15 foursome start in the morning. Very slow to start but the pace of play picked up. I like the improvements being made to the course. New sand in the bunkers. Recently over seeded. New sod in some spots. Some work to clear out growth that is impeding play. I’m excited to see where the new owners take things.

The fairways and greens are in pristine condition on this beautiful course. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming.

We also love the opportunity to see oodles of deer, the odd armadillo and the usual flying and crawling critters on local courses. (I’ve had to heard Sandhill cranes off fairways before, but this is the first time I’ve had to shoo deer off a fairway!!)

Book a tee time and enjoy, you won’t be sorry!
