The worst
Greens were like putting on a stone parking lot. No signage at any hole, except for stupid foot golf. Fairways were weedways. Charged $30 with a cart for nine holes. I expected a nice course and got crap.
Confusing
Greens were horrible and the disk golf course overlaying the golf holes was confusing. The property has great potential but was like playing in your yard with over rolled compressed greens but if you only have time for nine it is still golf.

Course in terrible condition
This course is a mess unfortunately. The layout is confusing (there are flags everywhere thanks to the “foot golf” holes all over the place) the greens are more like browns and have grass tufts everywhere. Really short holes as well, mostly par 3s. Decent value for 30 bucks for 9 holes, but you’ll be getting what you pay for.

Friendly Staff, Poor Course
The staff is the best thing going for this course. The driving range looked pretty decent, but when it comes to the course....it’s not a golf course. Understandable it’s late March and the grass isn’t thriving as much as it should be. But in and around the tee boxes is a ton of large broad leaf weeds. The fairways on the par 4 are poorly maintained. The tee boxes had a lot of rocks in them because the cart paths are mainly all gravel. The greens are not golf greens. Extremely disappointed as the putting greens are mainly sand that is dyed green or hard compacted dirt. There is only about 5% living bentgrass/Bermuda on the greens. It doesn’t seem like this course has much of a budget, which is unfortunate. It could be a great short course to work on iron shots. But it is so poorly maintained. The foot golf is intermingled with the actual golf which can turn dangerous, although our group did not encounter any foot golfers. I don’t live in the Austin area, but I just cannot recommend it to others.

I wouldn’t play this course again. It’s not worth the 4 hours to play 9 holes and watch people kick a soccer ball.

Harvey Penick Rolling in His Grave
This is a pathetic little 9 hole short course that was in poor condition. Layout was confusing with few tee markers. Fairways were a goat pasture. Perhaps the greens were being reseeded this day.
Both Hancock Park Golf Course and Lockhart State Park Golf Course are far better 9 hole courses, and even Butler Park Pitch and Putt is nicer.
The gasoline powered Yamaha Golf Cart was very nice.

Harvey Penick golf
Soccer players (foot golf??) were playing along side golfers. It is a ridiculous set up and a hazard. The course is in bad shape. Many of my lies were on dirt or poor grass. I am not a beginner. Too many people were on the course and it was very backed up.

Wouldn’t recommend
Got here 25 minutes before my tee time, and I'm told there are no carts left, despite having already paid for one with my booking through GolfNow. Booked as a solo golfer.
The options given to me by the office were to walk or not play. The group of 3 I was paired with had 2 carts (rules are currently family/related for cart sharing), so I'd be walking while they all rode their carts. Absolutely ridiculous. No refunds or rain checks offered either.
This would have been my first time playing here. It's definitely my last time trying to.

Fun 9 hole
Fun course. Decent conditions. Great price value. Way too many people on the course playing soccer golf. At one hole we had three parties playing golf and two parties playing soccer golf. There was 12 total people trying to play through on a hole. Total mess. Once we skipped a hole and passed the soccer golf groups, we enjoyed our back 9. Need to manage all the groups & times better.

Terrible condition. Say goodbye to your balls
I can’t believe this place is open. Course is muddy, greens are not even puttable. Cart path is a rocky dirt road and the driving range is uneven, grassless, and impossible to gauge distances. Fairways are basically compact clay dirt with dead grass sparsely on top. The rough is literally impossible to find balls in or play out of, so I hope you hit 100% of your tee shots accurately or expect to kiss your score and balls goodbye due to drops.
I’ve heard a lot about this course and it’s a shame how bad this place is now. Would be better off as a disc golf course at this point honestly. I’m glad I only had time for 9 today - no way would I have made the turn to finish 18.
I can’t stress enough that unless you’re bringing your kids out to have fun and not actually keep score, skip this place and go play any other muni in Austin. You’ll be thankful you did
