About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Fun course to play
Greens are coming around and much better condition than a year ago. Layout is awesome! Carts are old but they have been keeping them clean. Price is a little steep based on course conditions but you can catch a good deal on Golf Now. Staff is always friendly

Nice layout
Very pretty layout. Grass a little thin at this time in the season. Fun to play and rewards good shots.. Greens were in good shape. Great course to walk if they'll let you.
Great course for the price
If you are looking for a good course at a decent price then this is a great course
Excellent quality for the price
I played this course for the first time since summer and was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the course conditions. Greens and fairways were in good condition. Tee boxes had a lot of divots but were mostly filled in. Courses in this area are very expensive and this course offers excellent quality for the price.
Has so much potential
Great layout. On the bay. Can tell it use to be a country club. Hole layouts were great. Staff was incredible. Greens. Horrible. Think they took a lot of bad weather. If they loved on the course a little bit this place could be a hidden gem.
Good bang for your buck
I have always played this course when I am in Florida. I love the layout and I am pretty sure this is a Pete Dye course. It makes you think about just about every shot.
I noticed this time that there were a lot of bad reviews. They must have had a problem during the summer. When I played in December the grass on the greens looked great. They were just a little slow. They probably had them that way for a reason. I think those people that were whining need to pull your pants up and make a shot

Course is improving from loss of greens and irrigation system loss! But $57 is too much to play this course!

Bad policies ruin mediocre course
I’ve played here a few times — usually very relaxed play as it’s rarely crowded. Course has always been in OK condition and play is usually fun. I tried to play on 12/30 but we had a very bad rain storm and only finished 4 holes. I asked for a rain check but they only gave 9 since I had finished more than 3 holes. Not the best policy when they are looking for repeat players. In addition, the cost to play if you pay in the clubhouse vs using golf now is $13 more than using golf now. When I enquired about this, they said it was a convenience charge for letting me reserve a time at the course vs, golf now. So if you do decide to play here, use golf now and save some money.

Worse every year.
Worse ever year sums it up. Getting very run down. Greens are patched like a quilt and still lots of bare spots. Even the carts are trash all the seats are worn through and don't look like any cleaned.

Shalimar point
We really enjoy playing here. Very challenging holes. I like #1 and #13 (grand canyon) are my favorites. The greens are improved since this past summer and the price with a hot deal on golfnow is low. ~$36. 00.

This course headed down hill. Doesn't look like they keep it up.

Going downhill fast, not making any course improvement.

Gone Downhill
From tee to green the course has gone down hill. The greens were patchy and all had bare spots.

Okay
Okay conditions. I booked as a single and was basically stuck in the middle of a ladies club event which killed the pace of play. Shouldn't even offer tee times if you have to play around or behind an event.
