About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Good course
Prices have risen since last year and warm up bucket of balls does not exist like last year unless you purchase. Everything else was great.

Price is good and the layout is nice. But sand traps are poor and the grass is not in good shape.
Great layout
Great layout. This course forces you to use all the clubs in your bag. Lots of risk reward tee shots. The greens have a lot of undulation’s.

Rough shape
I realize it’s winter, but there are a number of courses in the area that are green. The fairways were mainly hard died grass. So even when you hit a good shot off the tee, your second short is off a hard surface. Greens were the only area that was respectable.

Things are looking up
The course has really improved since I played in November. The greens have filled in and you can tell that the maintenance crews have been working hard. Only thing is don’t play on Tuesday morning because it’s ladies league and they let them start on both front and back nines.

Better than Ohio at this point
Obviously very little money spent on course improvements. Greens are ok. Fairways are sparse. Cart paths would not be missed if removed.
No starter no ranger carts are worn out

Great course
Our round was quite enjoyable.. The guy in the pro shop was not particularly friendly or helpful. The chap at the end of the round was much better.
The course was in great shape considering that we played mid-winter and rough areas were dormant. Greens and sand traps were in very good condition.
Pace of play was fine but slowed on the back nine due to on overly slow 3some. Marshalling might have helped.
We’ll give another go, soon.
Course has some fun holes.. Needs a little TLC, lots of work seems to be ongoing.. have a feeling improvements are happening.

Excellent Experience
I read some recent reviews of the course and was pleasantly surprised at how much better the course was than some of the reviews. Almost every greens was in excellent shape. Tee boxes were much better than expected based on reviews. It was a great value. I will definitely play there again.
