Oak Hills Golf Club

Pace of play was awful. There was a group of 4 at my start time. Ahead of them was another group. Behind me was another group. The pro shop guy was nice but should have been proactive in managing this cluster.
Patchy grass on tees/greens but did not affect my driving/putting.
No balls were lost.
Overall decent value.

For $10, its basically free golf so I really shouldnt complain, but the course is in terrible shape. Only 2 greens were without large percentages of bare spots. And not a single one rolled smooth. Not many of the tees were level and it was challenging to find a flat spot to tee off on. The fairways were fairly bare. Probably the worst condition of a course I have ever played in my 31 years on this earth.

In fairness: judging by the replaced sod, it looks like a lot of irrigation was recently replaced. That should help come next year. The staff was friendly.

Its an easy short course with relatively no hazards so it would be good for beginners who dont care what the course looks like. For $10 you could say its worth it, but for $20 you can play another course in the Hernando county area that are almost in perfect shape. I would say dont play here until 2016 when the course is in better shape.

Course is starting to look like the old Oak Hill we all know and love. Great job new owners!

Oak hills is being improved each year. It is a good value for the one spent. Staff are very friendly.

At only $18.00 for 18 holes this time of year, you get what you pay for. Most of the greens are in poor to fair condition. Fairways a bit bare. A few of the holes have good lay outs that make them a fun little challenge . The staff was very pleasant . Probably won't play here anytime soon due to course condition but they say they are working on it.

I played here three months ago and they said they were improving the conditions of the course..they must not be in a hurry .the fairways were o-k but the greens robbed me of several strokes because they were in poor-fair condition. the tee boxes would improve if the tees were changed more often..at least we now have sand to fix the divots on the fairways. will try this course again in a few months

Worst course ever played.No grass on greens so no sense in putting.Rained out after nine holes asked about rain check and was told to call golf now.We would not play there again if you paid us.Was giving rain check away to someone i did not like anyway.

First green was put in front of regular green with circle painted around it in fairway. Driving range was terrible.

Every golf course in this county of Florida, the owners, just rake the money from the cash register, and put nothing back into the course. Totally pathetic, they should be tarred and feathered.

Course recently taken over by new management, hope they spend some extra time on the greens they are a little rough, But it's a wide open course with lots of forgiveness. The course designer must have been sadistic putting those bunkers in front of almost every green. Had a great game game though and good company.

Hard fairways, greens were not in nice shape, but for $18 with cart, how can you complain.

This course is a disaster. While they are making attempts to clean it up, it is a long far from being a playable course. The first green is a temporary, the second only had about 50% grass on the entire green. This course should be closed until the upgrades are complete.

They have new management and are trying
to bring it back to where it was at one time.

The course was challenging however it showed only fair. Lots of work to be done yet with the new management in place for only 6 months. Would like to see it in another 6 months.

The course conditions were fair. Lots of hard pan in the fairways. Greens were two-putt max b/c dead spots on all...some worse than others. And get ready to play links-style. Getting the ball to bite is next to impossible on many holes. Most of them the ball runs like Forest Gump. However, it's improved over last time and the new management seems to be concerned with improving the quality of the facility.

One thing I must mention, if you book through GolfNow be sure to cancel anyone not coming in your group 24 hours prior to the tee time. This is the first course that I have been to my exact reservation number at the course when I used GN. It is, according to all sources, the course's choice/policy to do so. We had one no-show, which had never been a problem yet I was charged for the 4th not being there. Not Cool... They said they off-set that charge by offering a voucher in the amount you paid for the next time you come, but isn't that just a way to strong-arm a return and in general poor customer service? It certainly will be part of what I report to my colleagues when then inquire about the course ; so much so that I included it here. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. Does that seem kinda cheesy to anyone else?

All aside....The course is getting better. A good practice round course, but don't use the score as a real reflection of your ability. It still has improving to do.

Greens are very poor, no grass on most...fairways very scarce, did not OVERSEEDED with rye. No range on course. Waited on every single tee box plus on numerous second and third shots. Would only play this course as a pure practice round. Shot results hard to evaluate due to lack of grass in the fairways.

Has potential to be a nice course but needs a lot of work. Fairways dry and sandy. Most greens were just ok. Women's tees have been reset and nowhere close to distance on scorecards. Pace very slow.

Course layout is very good. Course condition is not so good. Hopefully the new owners will stay at it, could be nice, maybe by 2016

Been there last year, condition of the course were fair...But this year, they lost there greens, no grass at all on greens, putting on hard mud... Think they should close it for a year and work on it....

Liked the layout of the course. Some greens looked a little rough but still putted fine. Fun day of golf. I would play this course again.
