Swenson Park Golf Course - The Oak Course

very playable, open, lots of trees for shade when it's hot.

Our favorite course we play twice a week!

Course conditions were very good but greens are still recovering from aeration. A bit sandy but ball rolls true and good speed. Fairways in great condition but difficult to replace debits, wish the course would provide sand to fill them rather than trying to repair from pieces of turf. I'm very satisfied with the course my opinions are just comments on how to keep the course in great shape.

Went out early 8:04 tee time, teed off at 7:45. Played 18 as a twosome in 3 hrs 15 mins taking our time. The course was under repair rendering the tee boxes unavailable but that didn't keep us from enjoying ourselves. Even spotted a fox roaming around, pretty cool. Overall the course was good, the greens fast and the round alot of fun.

This course was great for me because my goal was just to play golf. The staff is friendly and the course is welcoming. It is not a place to take people for entertainment its strictly a play to play golf no matter the skill level.

This old course is in such good shape. It seems to get better all the time. One green had some damage but the Grounds crew was right on it to repair. it was small amount and was away from the hole placement. Just always enjoy this great old course.

Well laid out. Clean carts and bathrooms on the course. Good rates. Great food

I've played there many times over the year and have always had a great time. Staff is very friendly and professional. I've had several friends play here and their comments were all positive.

Course is improving and the greens are in great shape. Lots of tree trimming is making the course look great. Nice easy walking track. Beautiful oak trees.

The tee boxes were being worked on and you were teeing off 50 yards ahead of normal. It would have been nice to notify us before hand as it might change my decision to play there. Also I prepaid and the worker in the shop wanted to charge me again. Luckily I had my email proof on my phone. I have read other reviews stating the same thing so be careful not to get charged twice.

Played yesterday. Got to the course and the computer systems were down. The guys in the pro shop were working on gettin the system back up but didnt hesitate to get us out when we let them know we had gone through GolfNow. Told them it was our first time playing and they let us know where everything was.
Met some locals on the first tee that were teeing off prior to us and they werre extremely frienly and let us know the lay of the land.
Got paired up with a couple locals which were a great benefit. Dew on the ground early which made the greens roll a little slower. As they dried up during the day they got quite a bit faster. Greens were in pretty good shape. As with most courses anymore people need to fix their divots.
Course was in really good conditions. Fairways were pretty green and did not notice any bare spots.
It was pretty cool to see all the wildlife on the course.
Will be making this drive again.

Early morning tee time, no waiting, off on time, no hold up on any tee. Fairways in decent shape regardless of drought. Greens also in good shape. Enjoyed the round of golf.

Relatively good course given that it is a muni, and California is in the middle of a drought. In comparison to similar courses in the area, I would rate this course behind Creekside, but ahead of Dryden Park in Modesto. The greens and fairways were in decent shape despite the drought, but there are definitely some brown areas. The layout is relatively flat, although it has to have the bumpiest fairways I have ever driven over. I was a bit worried that the golf cart would come apart. Probably a few too many Ground Squirrel holes.

I had a really good time playing at this course. I look forward to return to this course. this is all i have to say.

I have golfed swenson for the last 40 years. I have never seen the greens this perfect. The only issue was the ball marks that jerks didnt fix. The fairways were ok and tee boxes are a little scruffy. The course was generally well maintained. The staff and cafe folks were friendly. Overall great shape for the middle of a drought.

This course is great if you want to get out of the house, and no go to far. Minus the ground squirrel holes, this course is well maintained for a muni course. I will be returning.

I love Swensons GC....this one Saturday there were no carts available because 10 were down and they had a match play tournament . I didn't even play as it was 11:30 and no sign of getting out with a cart..our tee time was 11:08am. I left and went to Van Buskirk to play and ate my online fees to Golf Now. First time that's ever happened but a big dissapointment.
Staff was excellent...they knew they'd run late and gave us a small obucket on the house.. I did over hear that it took 1-1/2 hrs to play 3 holes..another reason why we left. I'll be back tho
