Great winter golf
This course doesn’t disappoint again. While the zoysia is still brown is allows the ball to stay off the deck, but don’t wander into the rough.. greens were in good shape for February. Wish there were a few more straight holes; dog legs win the day.
Winter ball
Had a great time on our second round at Warrenton GC. My wife and I ended up playing with a gentleman who was actually scheduled to tee off behind us. Had a great time and made a new golf buddy. Any time we can get out in late January is always a bonus. Zoysia is still dormant, and the fairways a little wet.but the greens held the ball, but weren’t too slow to putt. We will definitely be back again.
GreAt Value
Sometimes waited for four groups to tee off on one hall. Overall the course was in pretty good shape, the greens were good and everything went smooth except we just had way too many golfers on the course.
Value
Have not played this course in 20 years. Was great value for the money. Played with two new to golf golfers and it was a great day. No one pushed and the pace of play was great.
Will definitely be back
I love this course. I've only been playing 4 years now. In the beginning I didn't like it because of the dog legs. I just wanted to drive the ball. But now that I've gotten better. I appreciate the dog legs because they give a challenge to your game. The staff is very nice an friendly. Always has food an drinks available. Course has gotten better over the past few years with the new ownership. Only real problem is the the players not respecting the course (fixing divots, throwing their trash away currently, and not allowing faster players to play through) I prefer going to Warrenton golf course over any other course I've been to. And will continue to go play and better my game there
Massive Improvement
The improvement in the condition of this course is amazing.
Greens - roll and a decent speed and are in good shape
Collars - playable and fair
Fairways - defined and cut well
Tees - some attention needed
Staff - Excellent, friendly and helpful
This is a unique course built on an old farm. There are several sharp dog leg right holes (one day I hope they move hole 13 tees back and make it a par 5). 15 is a reachable par 4. The par 3's are all very good golf holes. Some of the holes are dramatically different from the White to the Blue.
It is not long, it is not an overly hard course, but it is fun to play and is now in good shape.
As always, one of my favorite courses to play, because Warrenton Golf Course always fulfills my golfing needs of fun and enjoyment.
