Cowan Creek Golf Course

This course has many challenging holes. it would be nice if they had a snack bar and beverage cart going around to service the players.

Really good course. Nice mix of hard and easy holes. Greens in great shape. Pace of play tends to be a little on the slow side but hey, it's Sun City, so what's the hurry?

Super weather, good company, enjoyable pace and round. We need rain all over but course maintenance/management has done a good job under the circumstances. Huge greens, watered sufficiently to hold, speed (0-10 with 10 being very fast) I would rate 6, maybe 7. This was my first round at Cowan Creek but definitely not the last!

Nice course layout. Fairways are in good shape. The greens are very well maintained, hard to read, and roll fast.

Greens were SWEET, course is better than Legacy even.

Wide fairways & big yard greens give a lot forgiving for high handicappers. Well maintained! Only thing distract me is a slow play. No marshal presented.

However, they put us right in the middle of a scramble and we would have played a round in well over 5 hours. After waiting three holes in a row we decided it was not worth it. Since we bought our green fees on golf now we could not get a refund... Needless to say we won't be going back.

FYI, the drag feature does not work well at all. Excellent golf course. Greens good, although not excellent. Tee boxes were in great condition. Fairways in very good condition. Sand traps in very good condition. Love the layout. The course designer did a great job with the natural landscape.

Overall, excellent grades from me as far as the on-course situation. If I were to change anything, then it would be to have a person riding around with drinks and snacks. Also, a snack-bar in the clubhouse would be nice.

Anyways...love the course and will definitely be back soon.

Pace of play was slow since this is a retirement community course and there were many locals playing. This along with the time change didn't allow us to finish the round. The course was a good shape and a fun place to play.

The greens have improved dramatically from summer.

Greens have recently been seeded, most were great but several slower because they were at a different stage.

This is certainly a course that we go back to often. The tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens are always in fine shape. And there are just enough special/interesting holes to make it entertaining, etc. And with GolfNow discounted tee times (always with range balls), it can easily become a really good value for your money. The staff are always nice and I find the area (sans big city hustle & bustle) quite relaxing.

We were really impressed with the course. It was just a beautiful area. People were friendly on the course. We rate it excellent. Hope to play there often.

Course was fun and in pretty good shape. get a layout before you play, There are a lot of blind shots. I would definitely play it again.

Pace of play was a little slow, with no marshalling of pace. There are not many distance markers to go by, and no GPS system on the carts. Staff were friendly and helpful. The best part is the condition of the course overall, quite good. This course has a lot of residential street and boulevard crossings, so some caution is needed. Good practice range, and I appreciated the cooler and ice available on the cart.

This is a fantastic, well-maintained course with friendly staff. Fairways are wide helping keep the lost ball count low. Enough variation and sand to remain challenging. Only bummer is that there is not a course layout that you can look at for each hole. Makes the first time you play it a bit of a guessing game. Still highly recommend.

Cowan Creek has been on my top 5 courses in the NW/SW Austin region for about a year now and thats only because my first time playing was about a year ago. Excellent shape, large white sanded bunkers and multi tiered true rolling large greens. This course is fun and challenging for all levels of play. Located just north of Austin in Sun City Georgetown, Tx, this course is a 1 of 3 gems this subdivision has to play. This is a must play. Great deals can be found on where else? Golfnow.com. From the tips, this track is a blast! challenging and fun, pretty wide open for a few miss hits....but it will make you pay with a longer shot into the greens. Greens are always quicker than a regular muni. very consistant. what a deal and never busy! Hate telling that to the locals......Just keep up a decent pace or the old boys or myself will shoot chili peppers up your tailfeathers.

The course was in very good shape and well taken care of. You just can't beat the golfnow deal with the price.

This was my first golf outing in over a year so I lost a lot of balls. Still had a great time as I was playing with someone who only started two weeks before.
