Very nice greens. Bring the big sticks, this course is long.
Stockton Municipal Course what can I say Stockton is in a budget crisis
Had to wait a half hour for golf carts to return was the downside
Cheap course for a holiday (presidents day) was the upside
Long Course with a great layout
Long Course with a great layout, greens are in fast and in good shape The rest of the course needs attention. The price was great.
Great old course
Greens are in great shape and the style of a great old course is there.Just need to upgrade the fairways and the snack bar.
sand traps
The sand traps have very little sand in them and no rakes.
The 18 hole has a big hole right in the middle of fairway should be repaired we lost a ball in it. It looks like its been there for awhile the mosquitos were thick in the water at this hole.
Fun layout. Great greens, some dry/brown spots on fairways/rough, as typical of a muni course.
Fun layout that provides many birdie opportunities, but miss the fairway and expect to make bogey. Tree lined fairways on most holes make it a tough score if you can't keep it straight off the tee. But, if you can, greens are very easy to go at and soft, so you can attack every pin. Pretty good price for a fun course! Greens are smooth, fairways could be better, and lots of brown spots, but can't expect much more for the price. Course conditions do not take away from the experience.
Course is not the place to work on short game. Par 3 holes are short but difficult.
Not the best course in the city but not bad for the money. Huge difference in the upkeep between its sister course (Swenson) in North Stockton. Narrow greens on some long Par 4 helps dial in the short irons. Big trouble if you are off the fairway on any hole.
What Stockton has allowed this former great course to become, is a disgrace to those that donated it and a disgrace to their memory.
It's nothing but disgraceful what the city of Stockton has allowed this once great course to become. It's a disgrace to the memory of those who donated the land.
