Stay out of the Sand
First time playing this course. I liked the variety and challenge of the holes. Between the water and the bunkers you really had to consider each shot. The bunkers had weird black sand that I was not use to. Some of the bunkers were wet and the sand either was like gooey muck or hard like cement. Best advice, just stay out of them! There was a threesome that manage to slip in front of us on the back nine that slowed us up but otherwise it was a great course.
Hidden Gem
Great course layout and clubhouse. Friendly staff. Greens were recently aerated but other than that it was a great round. Finished in 3 hours. Will definitely be back!
Very nice layout
I always enjoy playing this course (3-4 times a year) but I rarely find the bunkers in good shape. They don't drain well after a rain event. Other than the bunkers, the course is in great shape.
RD
I almost didn't play this course due to prior rating of unfriendly staff and course conditions...wow...what a mistake that would have been! I was greeted by pro shop gentlemen who was extremely friendly, gave me a course book, and pointed out the water hazards and how to get around course since I started on #10. Course in good shape with a few fairways and greens needing some growth spurts, but overall, greens were true and fairways very good. I was travelling on business and would play again if in town! If you are used to playing PGA tour courses this may not be your cup of tee, but if you are like most golfers, this is a challenging and inviting course...go play it!
Will return!
Course was wide open, good chance to play your ball way out of the fairway. Greens in great shape and fairly large. Lots of water and natural hazards, but very enjoyable! Will play there again!
Nice Layout
This course has come a long way with a new club house with rest rooms. The old pro shop is now a pool. The sand traps need some attention but other then that, the greens & fairways were plush.

This is a wonderful layout and fun course to play. The staff is friendly and helpful. Driving range is excellent. Lots of water but very little OB and always a bail out on one side. Good shots are rewarded and recovery from errant shots is possible. The one negative is the green speeds are slower than they look and extremely soft (mid July). This does allow from aggressiveness into greens and chips must be placed close to hole - but roll true, smooth and consistent. Fairways are excellent, staff keeps traps raked and course is manicured very nicely. Good golfers will love the layout, high handicappers may find it very challenging with all the water. Many birdie holes, some good risk/reward. One of my favorites to play while in the Beaufort area!
Finest course in a 75 mile radius bar none!
The Beaufort Club is far and above a nicer facility than anyone you will find, including most in Myrtle Beach!
Immaculate greens!!!! The best I have EVER played! The only problem I had with the place was the traps were horrendous at best, nothing but a collection for black sticky muck. Obviously I should have not been in any of them but I managed to get a close up look at three of them!
If you love a tight course go elsewhere, you can slice two fairways over and still make par no problem.
I love Beaufort Club! It is the GO TO course for anyone living or visiting the Outer Banks area !!! It's worth riding 18 without swinging a club just to see it!!!
You gotta go see AND play it!!
Worth finding
This course is not in the middle of the beach action of the central North Carolina coast but well worth finding.
A short drive from the beach and the North River community opens up to a great golf layout. Still a work in process as they "tweak" some of the fairway bunkering, the layout is in great shape with lots of challenges. Multiple tee choices allows you to see as much of the course as any golfer could want. I'm sure it will continue to improve as more homesites sell, it is obviously built as a residential golf community. Great clubhouse and amenities to grow into...
very nice
very nice course, as others have said stay out of the "sand" traps, they are nothing more than a place to store muck. with that said the course is wonderful and otherwise in good shape. plenty of chances to get into trouble but a fair test. staff was friendly, joined up with a member and had a great day. will return to play again when in the area
Challeging Water and Sand Opportunities
The title says it all it is a challenging venue of water and sand bunkers. Having just come from Myrtle Beach it was up to par with many of those courses. It appears to be a new golf community, well worth the drive.
