Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Frog Hollow Sun May 19 2019
Beautiful day. 12noon tee time. play was faster then normal. course is in good shape except for the traps. all need fresh sand
good condition
Fairways and Greens in very good condition, rough not cut too high, fortunately, I stayed out of the sand, but it looked liked some of the sand traps needed minor work, some of them (not all) looked more like dirt than sand, but, like I said this was only my impression from a distance, I was never in one.
used golf now and meet three other golfers that was a pleasure o play with, overall the course was in pretty good shape,, pace f play was good and staff friendly. the only problem i had was the sand traps were in poor shape with to many stones.
Distance from tee
It seems the distances from the Teebox is not accurate. Also some of the boxes were actually in the rough for some reason, but no signs or even a mention of it by the Pro before starting the round.
Easter Golf
Course is in decent shape.
Greens were in good shape.
Par 3 tee boxes are all temporary, main tee boxes closed.
Issues... non fairway areas of course are covered in dandelions. Makes finding errant shots that miss the fairway very difficult..
Bunkers are horrible. Hard beach sand. Not gold course sand. All bunker sand should be replaced.
Course condition
Course in fair shape. Fairways are spotty. Greens are in descent shape. Bunkers need some work. Good prices for food and drink. Worth the money.
Hello Frank. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we appreciate your feedback in regards to the course and overall condition of the fairways. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the food and thought the round was of good value. We hope see you again in the near future.
there is always a but
Another great day at Frog Hollow. Greens are good the fairways are good, and the rough is short. But some of the traps are unplayable and all of the par 3's tees are temporary.and the other tees are functional. I for one would not let the conditions of a few traps [they have a lot of them that are very playable] stop me from playing here. Did I mentioned that they have a bar with a happy hour, just saying.....
Wonderful
Staff, was interesting and interactive, not puffed up, great staff!
As expected
Frog hollow is always a great place to play. For early in the season, it’s in above average condition. Got a great deal from GolfNow, but would gladly pay $45-$50. Never seems to disappoint.
Nice layout
First time playing here. It has a nice layout. Should green up in a few weeks.
Yes.
Good for $14 on Golf Now. Cold and windy and I played my worse in a long tim. My fault, not the course.
Winter golf at Frog Hollow
Getting out on the 9th of March can be hit or miss and today was a hit with the weather. I paired up with three other guys for an 11:40am round of golf. I was walking and the three of them in carts. With all of the other people out on the course today, there was never an issue with me walking while they rode. We waited on most holes, but nothing outrageous or upsetting to me.
The course was in good condition considering the amounts of rain and snow recently and the only true downside I saw with the course were the maintenance of the bunkers. What made them even worse were the lack of rakes anywhere. Finding yourself in a bunker is bad enough, but when you land in a footprint or worse, it truly makes things worse.
I love the layout and for today’s Price it was well worth my time driving down since courses near me still have snow on them.
