Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Nice Layout
Course has a nice layout, the best starter ( Brian ) in the region, greens are slow.
Bunkers need work immediately
Play here about twice a year over many years. This was the worse shape I have seen the course. Almost all of the bunkers are unplayable or "ground under repair". The greens were very slow, fairways and rough ok. We asked the pro in the shop about the bunkers, he said they have a plan to rebuild them. We eventually just started moving the ball out of the bunkers no closer to the hole. Hate to say it, but $30 wasn't really a good deal. Hope they don't go bankrupt.
Great course, Great food
Course is in great shape. We’re in a heat wave (92 today) and fairways and greens were perfect. Pace of play was great (front 9 in 1:20). Food and service in the clubhouse was top notch. Can’t recommend enough.
Hot day
In spite of the severe heat, golf course was fun. They provided many containers of water which helped tremendously.
the course is going thru a change in ownership
great lay out and great greens..fairway has some clover and other weeds but not to much to affect play..move ball..sand traps are playable but in bad shape with weeds growing..met up with groundskeeper Rick...during round and he explained that the new owners are upgrading the course due to bad management in past..the sand traps are poisoned due to the lack of repair and prior chemicals used..so must let the weeds take over then dig out all and replace... this course is playable and challenging..go and enjoy..time restraint prevented us from using restaurant..
will play this course again..no problem...
All is good
Course is in good shape could use some sand in the traps but still nice the restaurant food is great people nice
Challenging Course
First time playing here....
Well kept and very challenging
Thank you
Going through changes... for the worst in my opinion.
I typically have liked this course because it’s affordable, forgiving and close.
Im a mid handicapper but have occasionally shot in the 70s.
Maybe I’m belly aching but they are growing the rough pretty high and it’s now VERY easy to lose a ball even on a hit that’s not very far off. This, in turn, slows play since at least one person is always looking for their ball and just makes playing this course not fun.
Second, right now, the greens are not receptive. Anytime you hit a high wedge and it still rolls out 10 feet to me is a problem.
So, altogether, on top of price hikes this year, it’s unforgiving and then when you hit a good shot into the green, it actually might roll well past it’s target. This especially sucks when approach is from the short side.
Id look elsewhere in the area first.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Your feedback about the price of our course is important to us. We always want to make sure we are offering golfers a competitive price for their round. It is our goal to give visitors the best chance to get out and play more. We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement such as the rough and green conditions. Thank you for playing Frog Hollow Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Last time at this course
Its unfortunate that this course has gone down hill. We played several times last year and that is why we went back again. The bunkers were in horrible shape. The fairways are not cared for at all. The Tee boxes need care. The only thing that was enjoyable and challenging was the greens.
The pace was very slow. At one point there were 5 groups waiting on one hole. The staff told us that we were on time. Open holes in front of the first group and yet we were still waiting. Anyway, we won't be back
Hi Joeygian. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting Frog Hollow Golf Club. We hope to see you again in the future.
Okay course
Course was okay with a fun layout. That’s about the nicest thing i can say unfortunately. This course has the worst bunkers i have ever seen. The fairways have patches of crabgrass and dandelions. During our round there was a five group back up on the tee. The other twosome we were with called the ranger, he came out and said that in 4.5 hours the group is keeping on pace because they were on the 16ths tee. That puts us at a 5 to 5.5 hr round. That’s a little long for me. If they keep up the course better it could be a really fun track.

Beautiful day to play
It was a nice day playing., even the the three in front of us were slow. At least we didn’t have anyone after us. We had to stop at the 18th hole because the slow pace of the three before us caused my legs to give out.
The course is very nice.
Course
Great course for the money. They need to cut down some of the high growth further away from the fairways and greens. You should be able to find your ball 15 feet off the fairway or green.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review Frog Hollow Golf Club. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but appreciate your feedback on the rough and we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great Value
Excellent course! Greens ran nice. Solid staff! Cart broke down and the were out quick with a new raft.
Worth playing
I like this coarse - a lot. My foursome usually plays late in the morning. Pace of play not an issue for us. New owners. Coarse is in very good shape. Greens are not flat. They are tricky. If you are on the wrong side of the green, a three put is possible. Some holes are open, others are more challenging. I travel 20 mies to Frog Hollow, and it's worth every mile. As they say, ' GO PLAY !! "
Nice layout
Course was in good shape and has a great layout. The traps needed work sand was hard. The play was slow and I didn’t see a ranger. Luckily we were able to jump ahead of the slow threesome in front of us at the turn.
Great course to play
Frog Hollow provides a golf experience much like the more expensive courses in our area, but for a very affordable green fee. It is challenging enough to make it interesting but also accessible to all skills.
