White Horse Golf Club

About
White Horse Golf Club has one of the toughest courses in the Northwest. Situated on the Kitsap Peninsula, the course is located just five minutes south of the Kingston ferry terminal. The course sits on the Puget Sound between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, offering panoramic views on every hole. When the Suquamish Tribe bought the club in 2010, one of their top priorities was to make the course more playable. They enlisted John Harbottle for the job, a local architect who has designed several layouts throughout the state. By taking out nearly half of the bunkers, he opened up the greens and made them more approachable. He also widened the fairways and made the landing areas more generous. Since the update, White Horse Golf Club has become one of the most popular on the peninsula.

Excellent Course Condition!
Grass is in excellent condition all over the course.
Request the Shuttle Van at Kingston Ferry Dock return to service.
Can be slow
Whitehorse golf club has a great location & challenging layout. Multiple tees to suit your ability. Don’t let short yardage fool you into thinking this course is easy. Staff was great & Bev cart was out on the course. Only 1 major Complaint….Pace of Play on a Wednesday afternoon was 5:15!!!!! That is way too slow to be able to enjoy a round of golf. No marshals or anyone paying attention to slow play. It reall made the day more irritating than enjoyable.
White Horse
Brother came up from TX to play golf so I took him here are 2previous practice rounds.. I hadn’t played in 7+ years but loved the challenge WH provided. Fun times had by all…all could have played better but dividing time with teaching 11 yr old grandson how to be a caddie and driving a cart. Not a golf multi-tasker. Terrific track. Tribe doing a marvelous job
Love the course, hate the pace of play
Best conditions ive seen yet there, but as ALWAYS, the slowest round imaginable
Ridiculous
No marshall in sight, pace of play was abysmal. 4 some in front of me took 1 hour before completing 3 holes without anyone in front of them.
Awesome course, bring your A game.
Pete Dyes daughter designed it! Enough said. Very challenging but playable from whites. Undulating fairways and greens, elevated greens that are heavily bunkered. Lots of uphill and downhill lies.
Beautiful setting near the historic seaside vacation town of Indianola.
Sunday White Horse is a challenge
White horse is well sited and offers very challenging topography. The condition of the course has much improved over the past 10 years. In the past the narrow fairways were right next to the woods, which led to many lost balls. The course is more forgiving that way. The pro shop staff is very friendly and helpful.
This course is a good outing, including a ferry ride and play in a quiet, woodsy venue.
Beautiful Hard Course
Just played today and loved it. One of the harder courses to play because of the tree and berry bush lined rough, but the beauty, quiet and pure challenge are worth it. I would definitely play again and just prepare to lose any bought 10 feet left or right of the rough.
Nice course king rough!
It’s a really nice course but they keep the rough so long. Unless you hit every shot in the fairway expect to loose a full box of balls. I had plenty of shots that should have been playable just off the fairway that I couldn’t track down because the grass is 2/3’ long in places where it shouldn’t be. Between that and the ferry rides make sure you plan an entire day to play here. Beautiful scenery though.
Challenging But Fair Course
Guy I played with at Gold Mountain told me that if I thought that course (Olympic) was tough wait until I played White Horse.
I found them both to be challenging. White Horse was a challenging course. Having said this it has tee boxes to add and remove challenge from certain holes. The course was in great shape. The greens well manicured.
The staff in the pro shop were friendly and accommodating. A nice practice area. I was there and played twice on Memorial day weekend. It was not that crowded.
This course has a local reputation of being very difficult. I played the Blue/White tee combination and while the course was challenging I thought it was a very fun and fair course to play (I am around a 12 handicap). Not sure it deserves its reputation for being so hard. I did not find it any harder than Gold Mountain - Olympic or Newcastle - Coal Creek.
Course in very good shape
Course was cart path only due to recent rainy weather - but course was still in very good condition. Did not have to move ball out of wet/soggy area entire round. Greens are a little slow - ie cold weather and lots of rain, but rolled true. This was my first time to Seattle area, will definitely play again if I ever come back.
