Golfer Reviews
Great shot values.
Great design , wide variety of challenging holes.
Conditions have improved here a great deal from previous years.
Greens much better . Aprons …great work here. Tees in good shape.
It was extremely wet when we played . Cart path only, in this case, great applause to management for keeping course safe from cart traffic in very wet fairways. Bravo.
Would have been better to walk that day but it was also cool and windy so we played nine holes and can’t wait to get back there.
This course is managed well and great value for the money.
Course was in terrible shape. from tee to green. The greens had a few bare spots and the fairways had many. Most of the people playing the course were slow and terrible golfers which didn’t suit well for a crowded day and me being a four handicap. Cart patch’s were cracked and broken all over the course. And I. Priced several people playing in jeans which was a first for me. Staff was very friendly and courteous.
Unfortunate Conditions
I am clarifying a previous review. We have played Cypresswood frequently over the years as winter residents to the area. It is a fine community, the people operating the golf course are friendly and efficient, and the operation is well managed. There are two significant drawbacks. The cart paths have been in poor condition for a lot of years. Most of the course sits on a peat-like soil that holds water when there is a lot of rain. There has been a lot of rain in the past while. Playing conditions are very wet to the point where a document is attached to the score card instructing you to use cart path only on some five or six holes. Being confined to the paths is a shock to the bones. There is considerable drive-cart damage to the soil in places. It would be preferable to have a trolley and walk the course. As things stand it will need to dry up significantly to merit a good value-for-money score.
Golf experience
Course layout is good condition of greens excellent
Very friendly staff
First time
Not sure I would go back. Course is ok but not in the best of shape. Everyone needs to try a course once because you never know what you might like.
Average course
The greens were in great shape! The fairways need work. Challenging course! Great value! Will play there again.
Big Improvements!!
First time I’ve played here in more than a year. New course management have really improved the greens and tee boxes.. Course still doesn’t drain well but I could definitely see improvements. I would play here again for the right price.
Rough day
Great course. Most fairways are in good condition but the cart paths are in bad condition. If there is a 90 degree rule in place for the day. Well you can forget about it. I loved the greens and cart were as fast as the greens.
Brown Greens
Every Green on the course has turned brown I asked an employee why they turned brown and he said he didn't know what happened something had to happen for all the greens to completely turn brown not in spots the whole green! Play with that in mind I like this course but they need to figure out their green keeping!!!!!
So slow
First time playing the course. Course was wet but playable. Layout seems ok but the pace of play was the slowest I have ever encountered. Had to wait at least 5-6 minutes for every single shot. Totally ruined the round, and left after 9 holes, couldn’t bear to play the back 9.
Wet
Pro shop. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The course was in much better shape than the last time. I played it about a year ago. It was wet and the ball didn’t roll out very much.
Course was under water
Literally and figuratively. Need a kidney transplant after the potholed cart path. I guess the fact that the course yardage is extreme is supposed to make more challenging. It just made me try to get distances that aren’t in my game. Wet. Sloppy. Dead spots all over fairways. Horrible conditions.
