Cypresswood Golf & Country Club

It’s sad to hear how much money was invested and the course is in as bad of shape it’s in. Now that it’s not 100 degrees out, they bumped their price to $30 which is the same as courses in the area that are in much better condition. They also have some leagues that play during the week who have been told they get to play through anyone at anytime. The place is a complete mess. Finally, as many times as I’ve been over this summer (dozens), the guy in the pro shop still doesn’t greet me and asks my name when I check in. The little things go a long way.

When my wife and I play together I usually wait until sometime during the closing holes to ask her how she likes the course. Today she surprised me, despite a less than stellar round, by saying she liked Cypresswood because the forward tee boxes made her feel like she could compete. This is something she doesn't get from other courses where the average female golfer struggles to achieve par on the 4's and 5's.

Other than a few soggy spots in the fairways the course itself was in decent shape - greens were fast, rough was not a factor (never lost a ball), bunkers held soft sand, but tee boxes could use some TLC.

Pace of play was affected by it being a beautiful Sunday afternoon and back to back twosomes following a foursome. But we still finished in just under 4 hours.

We will be back.

Only problem I had with this course

At 10am, they let a five go out and as a two, we were on their heels every hole. Had to wait and wait.

There were opportunities for them to let us play thru but noooo!

But the best time to let us pass was at 10, and never did happen.

We were still able to finish in 3:30

Easy to find, security at gate was very nice. Short drive into a nice gated community. Club house is clean and organized. Bar/restaurant area is nice with plenty of seating and a large shaded patio with tv's.

Staff was friendly. Carts were in great condition and ran well. Course was in good shape with the exception of some patch work on some of the greens. Course layout is great! Alot of nice par 4's and 5's without a ton of tricky hazards. Surrounded by a beautiful farm with livestock.

Place was very busy in the morning, but later in the afternoon we had the place to ourselves. Attitude of the locals on the course could use some work, but overall enjoyed it, and will play here again.

Courses in Good condition greens need a little bit of attention but all in all great course for the price

I got a lot of bites because of fire ants nets though the fairways. Needs to cut the grass, balls get buried. We lost a lot of balls.

I have played cypresswoods several times. When you have to spend most of your time looking for your ball 3 to 5 feet off the fairway. Than not find it it doesn’t make for a good day. The rough is 3 to at times 6 inches long. They don’t cut the rough. If you do find it you can’t hit out if it. Very flustering. Doesn’t make for a good day. For new greens they are bad in spots also. . Very disappointed with the course on how it is being taken care of. They want people to play it than maintain it.
