Paradise amongst millions of people
Excellent course. 200 ft high redwoods. Course is in a canyon surrounded by millions of people yet there was no city noise. I saw wild turkeys and deer but not the mountain lions today. Golf Now provided green fee with cart for $32. I highly recommend it. I saw some people walking but it requires a high level of fitness with the constant elevation changes. Don`t miss out if you have the chance to play here.
fun course
first time playing Tilden... beautiful course, tough course but fair. pace of play was slowwwwww and no marshal in sight. over all i enjoyed my self and would still recommend the course to anyone!
Lose the Weeds
I always liked this course since it is a challenge but you can recover. Not anymore. Since they decided to let the weeds become US Open quality you have to be nearly perfect and I feel that makes this course that much harder now.
The course is in Berkeley, CA Nestled in the the hills and surrounded by tall trees.
The course was beautiful, the tall grass surrounding areas made for slow play. I believe the course was over booked 250 rounds that day made a 6 hour ordeal. My 10.32 tee time was changed to 10:55. We didn't finish until 17:30 hours. The fog was rolling in from the bay at that time which made the weather undesirable.
All smiles
Tilden often requires cart path only so I forgo this course for this very reason. This weekend it was not cart path only so I played and enjoyed it very much. The course is in great condition. Fairways were lush and greens were a bit slow but great condition. Pace of play was fantastic for a Sunday afternoon.
Great track. Pretty tight with alot of hills and great views. Condition's we're great. Greens rolled really good. Very fun course.
penal tee shots
You better have your tee game going, I was struggling a bit with Driver/3 wood and this course will make you pay. Lots of good elevation changes. Par 3s were more challenging that I thought appropriate for the distances. 11 is 230 into wind down a chute to a sloped green.
Pace of play was terrible, 5:40 hour round.
Also if you decide to walk this course, be prepared for a Hike. This is not an easy stroll
If you hit it straight, the course is easy
First time playing this course. The course is fairly short playing from the tips and all you need is an iron off the tee on many of the Par 4s. The course is somewhat narrow and the greens are fairly small which can prove challenging. Overall, the course wasn't very difficult and unfortunately the greens were punched or else it would have been a really easy scoring day.
Nice course but aerated greens
The course was in overall excellent condition except for the greens which had been recently aerated ethics rendered them nearly unplayable.
Too bad they did not inform us ahead. So paying full price was disappointing.
First west coast golf trip
Found the view getting to the course fantastic. Course has many elevation changes and not many flat lies. We were pared with a very nice young man who lived in the area. A plus because there are many shots that require knowledge of where to position your approach shots. Down side and why mediocre rating, greens were recently aireated and top dressed. Tee boxes could use some work as well. Overall we had a great father/son golf day.
Nice Course in the Woods
Tilden is a nice course that plays through the woods. Great views over the bay while driving up to the course on a clear day. Long par 3s, some holes with big hills up or down, overall a nice course. Can get a bit wet in some areas as lots of shade, but the course is kept in pretty decent condition. If you snag a deal definitely worth a visit
Nice course in beautiful setting
I think all the negative reviews are off base. This was a great experience. It is challenging and I imagine it can get sloppy when it's raining more often.
Pace of play is a bit slow, but it was a busy Saturday morning.
I really enjoyed it here. Staff was really nice. I did see two dead golf carts though and staff had to come out with new ones for the players.
Nice Course To Play
I have played this course a couple of times before, very pretty course. Except for a few wet spots on a few of the fairways the course was in great shape. Sand traps had sand which is a plus, greens were in great shape. One problem I was repairing 2 and 3 divots on every hole, big divots that you could easily see. The pin placements were tough but fair, nothing real radical. They do have a few forced carries and if you haven't played this course before you could get in trouble. This day I noticed there were a lot of walkers, that surprised me as I can walk a lot of courses but I would not walk this one. Could be they were only playing 9. I got a hot dog at the turn and it was really good and not expensive. As I always put in my comments, this is a public course not a resort.
Always a fun day
This is a fun course. Not long but has some holes like #1 that will take all your game to get par. Once you have played it a few times you’ll learn where to hit it.
