Berkeley Country Club

A well-maintained course with small, sloping greens and phenomenal views of the Bay Area from up on the hill. The snack bar closed early, but we still had a great time. Will play again.

Great views, course is in good condition, hilly if you want to walk, and overall a great time.

First time out at Berkeley CC. 3 friends and I saw the member for a day deal pop up on golf now and jumped at the chance to check out the property. The drive up to the clubhouse through the east bay hills builds anticipation, and when you arrive through the gates you are greeted by a historic clubhouse and a sick! view of the entire bay. I won't walk you through hole by hole even though I want to. The course is not exceedingly challenging, but definitely not simple. Tricky, small green complexes and well-placed fairway bunkers were the highlights. Several tee shots offer elite vistas of the golden gate. Would definitely love another crack at this course, I did not play well at all but still enjoyed myself fully. Will for sure be back if the opportunity presents itself.

This course has been private for many decades, now opens up some public tee times for GolfNow.

The course has many scenic holes, situated at the top of the Berkeley hills. Views to the Golden Gate & SF skyline.

The scenery is the star here, but when the wind really starts whipping around the hills it can be very challenging!

2 tips I would offer are very few holes require hitting the Driver, and the greens are MUCH slower than the beautiful nanicuring makes them appear.

First time playing here, and it's a gem. The course is very hilly, and the greens are quite undulating, so you really have to know which side of the pin to play to. The greens rolled very nicely- not super fast, but smooth and above average in speed. The course layout is superb with many thrilling views of the bay and SF. It's not long, but it plays long due to the elevation changes. Overall, a difficult course.

Not crowded at all on a Saturday afternoon, and we played as fast as we wanted to. One thing to note is that there was only a snack bar open, which did not have anything like a sandwich or hot dog and there was no beverage cart. But the staff was very friendly. Overall, a real treat to be able to play here. Oh yes, and they supply you with free range balls.

Bring your best game, this course is challenging but a lot of fun.

Upon arrival, my playing partner and I were stunned by the views. We checked in, hoping to buy a few beers and snacks for our round, but were informed that the restaurant and bar were closed, on a Saturday, at 3pm.

The snack shop was open but had no food. It was closed when we came by on the turn at 5pm.

Overall, the course is stunning, and a good value, but the service on this particular day was not terrific. Hoping for a better experience next time.

fellow golfers, this is a bucket list course, wide fairways, challenging greens, and the most outstanding views of Bay Area, I'll play again soon!

First time at the course, greens rolled pretty true and decent speed. Fairways were well maintained, rough was dry. hopefully, they can upgrade their driving range or get a big net to the back of it. Very hilly and not very long from the tips. Absolutely beautiful views on 90% of the course. If you can play, I would say play and decide if you want to come again. If I lived closer, I would definitely play more here.

Beautiful vistas on practically every hole. Great layout. At least for an average golfer, challenging, but fair. Very friendly accommodating staff. I will definitely return.

I spent as much time taking pictures as playing golf. Views of the Bay from most holes. Hilly with lots of slopes, but generally fair. Conditions quite good. Staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend for a last minute round of golf.

First thing we noticed when arrived was the view! What a great location for the club house and golf course. Staff were very welcoming and for a Sunday I was shocked at how quiet the course was. Golf carts looked brand new. Golf course had a few wet patches but overall was is good condition. Greens were smooth and great layout of holes in general.

The course lay out with the 18 th hole give you a stunning view of the bay. The green is slower than normal.
