Fun Challenge
Nice lay out in the foothills near Pomona, CA. Challenging and rewarding. Was extremely windy on some holes.
Bad
We were not told before booking this on golf now that the greens had just been punched the day before. This made okay very bad. We would not have booked this course if we had known the greens had just been punched. There should have been a warning on golf now about course conditions instead we found out at 615 am when we arrived. No offer of a discount made me not happy.
Typical American Golf
Golfnow price saved me $10 for the two of us which turned out to be a false savings. Counter guy casually says, oh yeah, we just punched and sanded the greens. Wife says we play anyway which would have been ok, except counter guy neglected to mention that on half of the holes they stuck a cup and flag in the fairway 20-40 yds. short of the green, making them useless for anything resembling golf. We skipped two holes to get around slow groups, otherwise it would have been 5 hrs. of torture instead of just 4-1/2. Tee boxes and fairways are mostly the same slightly scruffy conditions found on most public play courses in So. Cal with the water problems we are having.
Great course fun good conditions
The course itself was well maintained. Club house was clean and modernized to eat in. Marshal kept a good pace of play on the front 9. Very fun course.
Slow
Allowing 5-some makes the pace slow. Need reconsideration.
Cold Day for Golf!
Let's start off with the few positives. The greens are nice, green side bunkers are under repair/remodeling. Fairways are poor either due to drought or over watering, not in very good shape. Tee boxes are fair. Too many fivesomes and pace of play is extremely slow. Now on course management needs improvement and better handling of issues relative to tee time etiquette. I do not recommend this course.
Mountain Meadows
Course was in good condition and the pace of play was decent considering we played on a Sunday morning. The greens were very fast and will be even better in the coming weeks. Love the new sand and only a few holes left to fill and the course will be in the best shape ever!
5 1/2 hour round
Course is nice and I would recommend playing it. Bunkers are great. However, playing on a weekend, horrible. They booked too many tee times with fivesomes. The staff could do better.
Potential to be GREAT!
Been playing this course for over 20 years and as busy as it seems to be the course conditions except for the SAND TRAPS are above par. They really need to rebuild ALL the traps. They are like hardpan under a half inch of dirty sand. Had a great round going (1 over after 11 holes) but tripled the 12th because you can't use the standard sand shot from any of their traps and sculled it from one to the other, tried different approach to the shot but was only guessing on what to do. PLEASE listen to this critique and make this a priority for your next improvement. Now the good part,,,the greens are absolutely awesome! They are all very healthy and it's obvious they know what their doing with them! Bur again,,,WHAT ABOUT THE TRAPS!!!!!
Gem in Inland Empire
I have lived in the area for 15 years and never played this course. I had read reviews prior and just wasn't impressed. On Monday, with a friend, went out and tried it with no expectations. I was very impressed. The course was in excellent condition tee to green. My only negative was the sand traps. They were hard and very difficult to get our of. The pace was good and I will definately be back. A thoroughly wonderful round of golf.
Slowwwwwwwe
Yesterday was the worst I have seen this course for pace of play. The marshals had groups hitting two and three golf balls every shot. Practice is not for the course that's for the range.
Perfect conditions
This course was simply in perfect condition, from tee box to fairway to green. The greens were just amazing, no bumps, fast and green on every square inch of them(even the large greens). No brown spots of uneven grass anywhere! Simply put these greens were the best condition of any course I've played this year. The course itself is very challenging, lots of hills and specific sides of fairways you have to land your ball. Keeps the golfer thinking and interested. There are quite a few blind shots however which I don't care you but can become harmless after playing here a few times. I think the course has a reclaimed water source so they can water all they want which makes the overall green look to the entire golf course. Price wasn't too bad, $50 at 7:40am on Sunday. One note... They allow 5 somes, and my mom and I were paired up with a 3 some, which was fine because we finished in 4 hours and 20 min.. Not too bad on a busy day with 5 somes everywhere
Very nice staff, greens can't be beat
Starter greeted our 4 some with good cheer. Teed off just a few minutes late. Good pace.
Saw starter again when he found my errant ball.
Tees and greens very good condition in a drought
Fun
Beautiful and fun course
Players of all levels. I'm beyond amateur and I love this course.
Played during Memorial holiday
The check in process was slow. The counter staff were checking in players as well as answer phone call thus taking long time to check in. The scheduled t-time was all backed up by about 30 mins. The pace of play was slow. The group in front of us were beginners but still playing blue tee. There were no marshal to enforce the speed of play since there were few holes of gaps. I will not return to this course.
Course was in GREAT condition!
My brother-in law and I played on Memorial Day. We knew it would be a slow pace round but we didn't think we would have to walk instead of ride. Course was so busy they ran out of golf cart. Instead of waiting around for a cart we decided to walk it. Not the ideal course to walk but do-able. Course was in great condition. Greens were somewhat fast but in great shape. Overall the day was great with weather, friendly staff and course condition.
back nine major slow down
This course never gives time for an early start, to continue round with that same pace, because of the walker groups put out on back nine. They are just put out to make their money with no consideration for the people who paid 51.50 and tee off @ 5:30am, and come around on back nine after one hour, to hour and a half, and now will wait to hit every shot. Back nine will take 2 to 2 and half hours to complete. how fustrating is that! This is been going on for a long time. How about not allowing back nine play until 7:30, or not at all on wk-ends. no apoligies given at all!! How RUDE
Changes Need to be Made
This course needs to adjust their policy of allowing 5 player all walking. Allowing 5 is bad enough but if allowed they all should be required to ride.
Frustrating Day
I have played this course for 10+ years now and it seems to deteriorate every year. The starter seems to have no idea how to manage tee times. As we were about to tee off there was an older couple who just jumped in front off us and jumped into a threesome that were teeing off. They asked the threesome if they didn't mind playing as a fivesome. That told us they didn't even bother to check with starter That was frustrating. We phoned food order before playing 9th hole and went to pick it up and cook was annoyed with us and told us to sit down because it would be a a while. We explained we were about to tee off on 10th and he didn't seem to care. The final straw was that it took us 6 hours to play the round. A very frustrating day!
great features.
We like very much.
We are going to play here.
Next week.
